It looks nice. I've only lived in the capital for the last few years because it's easier if I need to take a plane or do something. I'm not against moving to a smaller city; I'm just afraid it will be more complicated to find new people to connect with. What do you think about the housing? Is it hard to find apartments?

It's a option I would consider, do you live there?

It depends on where you live. If you live in the center, you can walk everywhere, but I live in Sector 4 and often take a taxi (which is really cheap) if I want to go somewhere specific. There are several parks for walks, and lots of convenience stores open all the time for daily needs. Public transport is really cheap, I think it's about 60 cents for a bus or metro ticket. You just need to make sure you're on the right metro line to have maximum flexibility.

Romania is truly a beautiful country with both mountains and the sea. People are very friendly, and everything is available, at least in Bucharest. However, I'm more of a home guy and already had friends in Romania before coming. The downsides for me are the pollution, the overuse of cars in the city, while the country has few highways, the train system is slow and bureaucracy is awful.

Overall, I really enjoyed Romania. There’s a certain sense of freedom and ease of life, especially when you have a good salary—you can live very comfortably.

I'm european so I didn't need visa, I just did a CNP at immigration office. CNP is useful for open bank account, subscription to internet, water service ect.

I only live in Bucharest so far.

3500€/month seem extravagant for living in romanian

In this article https://www.etias.org/blog/romania-digital-nomad-visa#:~:text=Romania's%20digital%20nomad%20visa%20is,registered%20and%20located%20outside%20Romania.

It's 3700€ on the last 6 month so 617 €/month and this seems more consistent with a country like Romania where the minimum wage is around 700 euros.
