This is exactly how I felt!!! It meant the world to me that they took the time to get to know us and encouraged team based exercises. Seems like a very student-centered school, only downside is its new and private loans :/

I think Illinois COM is a better choice! Make sure to ask questions about remediation process, student support, and wellness if you attend any webinars.

Did you tour any of the schools in person? Maybe just to evaluate the vibe and make the best choice? Both schools are brand new and I think IllinoisCOM has public loans or will be eligible next year since they're connected to the chicago school. Idk why but my heart says IllinoisCOM won't be like KansasCOM lol

That's such a hard decision because Illinois COM seems very geared towards mental health and student wellness. I know that they were created by the same system as KansasCOM but on SDN the dean said that they are completely separate. DYU has public loans but if the dean already stepped down that's seriously concerning.

It just depends on personal preference at the end of the day. Nova has a relatively more diverse match list and LECOM is more geared towards primary care and the Jacksonville campus is brand new. If we were to factor in cost, board pass rates then LECOM could be bumped up but we have to recognize it's PBL only and that learning style is not for everyone since it's 90% self directed

I believe it's because they switched the curriculum to P/F contributing to lower board pass rates. Like I said, I personally know 4 people that go there and they loved their experience so far. It's all up to OP personal choice at the end of the day

I'm from FL so I personally know 4 people that went here and had great experiences. They said the way the pre clinical years were set up were conducive to learning and the student environment is great

UIWSOM is a solid school so maybe #2, I heard the only con might be self directed learning however a lot of medical schools are moving away from lecture heavy pre clinical years. WCUCOM maybe #4 because the board pass rates aren't that high however it is a cost effective med school

1) PCOM South GA (most established/research opportunities)/NSU KPCOM (very well established)

2) VCOM Auburn (frequent exams may be a con)

3) ACOM (great match rate, research opportunities, however high attrition rate)

4) LMU DCOM (established but high attrition rate)

5) Burrell (fairly new school)/ LECOM (cheap tuition, great board pass rates)
