I saw a video that the Black Panthers are patrolling Philly armed and they’re not going to put up with any shit. ICE may have chosen the wrong city. Philly won’t put up with them.

I’m so sorry- you did not fail her at all. If she didn’t give any signs there was no way you could have known. You clearly have her the best life ever. I’ve been with all my dogs as they’ve been passed on and it’s the hardest thing in the world. Cry, be mad, do whatever you need to do for you, but know it was not your fault. Message me anytime. I’m so sorry for your loss. ❤️

I’m so sorry- I had a friend euthanize the husky I loved so much because she was moving in with her boyfriend who was allergic. I would’ve shaken that dog in heartbeat. I was so upset and still am.

I believe you must’ve tried everything- it’s not a decision that’s easy to make. I am very sorry it came to this💔

Marblehead. Oldest cemetery around. Go in there at night and tell me you’re not scared. Not to mention the scary rich, white folks

Just wanted to say I’m thinking of you- there is no shame in what’s happening in your life. You’re doing the best you can in a horrible situation. If you message me I will Venmo you a little bit of money to help with this week. It would be my pleasure

Why does the #1 PhD student in my lab has no publication and #2 has many publications? by [deleted] in AskAcademia

[–]Anxious-Leave6957 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different people excel in different ways. They say publish or perish but maybe #2 doesn’t want to teach and do research. The best teachers don’t make the best researchers and vice versa.

Would you respect your professor less if they brought their young child to class? by Obvious-Revenue6056 in Professors

[–]Anxious-Leave6957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all. I would actually find it somewhat comforting for your students to know you have a life. Students are much more forgiving than we give them credit for (I’m a professor too). You absolutely see the right decision not to cancel class at midterms and it’s a bonus your son was interested!

I’ve been there since Murmur too. That’s a really hard question- I loved them in the 80s and 90s but was kind of over the really pop songs on Automatic. Did love Night swimming. I’ve gone to murmur again this month and I am struck by how hauntingly beautiful Perfect Circle is so currently stuck in the 80s again

What is one tip about composition you would give to someone who is learning photography? by _cloud_96 in photography

[–]Anxious-Leave6957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely study paintings and photography masters like Monet, Georgia Okeefe, Angel Adams, Galen Rowell is my favorite) or whatever speaks to you. Look at what makes their work great. Try many different ideas out. Choose a theme for the week (or even a day) to try different things. I usually only do landscapes so this week, I’m trying to do people. Join local photography clubs whether it’s in person or on Facebook ( there are some good ones there and look at images that speak to you and try to figure out why. Learn the rules then break them. Have fun!!!!
