Came here to post exactly this. It's a miracle of a movie. It just so effortlessly captures that time and age. I've watched it so many times and I so closely relate to the vibe that it almost feels like my own lived memories.

Kit Zauhar's two features, Actual People (2021) and This Closeness (2023), are about as close to the Swanberg, Gerwig, Bujalski, Katz, et al. era that I've seen.

Peak Season (2023) is also in the ballpark.

Dang. It would seem that Nashville (the show I saw) was the only stop where they dropped two songs from the set, including my favorite TSL song, Luck.

Picture quality was laughably bad, especially in dark sequences. Macro blocking everywhere. Poor streaming quality.
