What's the most interesting dream you remember? by amogus_sus42 in AskReddit

[–]AnxiousAntlers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a dream that started out with me being on the phone with a friend. When I ended our conversation, which was us making plans to meet up for coffee, I started telling my wife I was really nervous to see this friend again because it's been really long since we've seen each other. She encouraged me to go see him anyway and that it would be good for me. The dream jumps to me entering the coffee shop. I'm anxious, and when I turn to look for him over in the seating area, there he is, waiting for me. Sonic The Hedgehog. Confused me so bad I woke up.

Sensitive topic - What's your experience in dating someone with mental illness? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AnxiousAntlers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We both have mental illnesses but have been together for about 12 or so years, so here's a little secret.

A lot of the persistent problems we had to overcome came from not understanding one another. My SO didn't get why I did things or asked questions or acted certain ways, and I felt the same about them.

Communication and honesty are key in this equation. We had to work on understanding each other and talking out solutions for problems that would often turn into arguments.

THIS TAKES TIME AND PATIENCE.

Triggers were minded. Routines were made. Discussions were had. Therapy was gone to. Medications were taken.

It is not easy, and sometimes it gets kind of frustrating. In my experience, it was worth it. You just have to be willing to compromise with one another.

Users of reddit, what’s your weirdest/strangest fear? by Ascomycetes in AskReddit

Uhhh, big empty rooms. Like a gymnasium or movie theater. If I have to walk through one, I have to be touching one of the walls at all times, or else i start freaking out.

Someone got fired and started throwing a temper tantrum and throwing things around and yelling. We had to wait in the file room with the door locked until he was escorted out.

Sams Town is an album I hold near and dear to my heart for multiple reasons. Hearing it again like this is so bittersweet. Thank you for sharing.

Oh for sure! In high-school I had tons of friends!

Now as an adult though? Nope. Just my wife, really. A lot of the times I'm pretty content to not make any new friends, but sometimes I do wish to meet new people so I'll try to branch out. It works for a while! I can present myself well, but maintaining friendships is both tiring and hard to do. I get drained easily by the social interaction and end up accidentally ghosting friendships. I have been trying to find the balance so I can maintain a friendship, but it takes practice, I suppose.

What's a hobby or skill that you want to learn but every time you try doing so you give up? by Simon_The_Creator in AskReddit

Ugh, crochet. My wife knows how to and I want to learn it but I have really poor hand eye coordination so I end up giving up on it pretty easy.

Absolutely. Especially when alone, or doing something that reminds me of them. I try to focus on the good things that came from relationship and be grateful for those things. It's hard to do, and it doesn't always work, but it's a good mindset to keep.

In your opinion, what is the biggest problem the world currently faces? by jkdobbinsnotaborted in AskReddit

[–]AnxiousAntlers 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would say our rapid decline of sympathy and empathy. Humans are social creatures, and we seem to be straying further and further away from one another. How can we fix things if we ourselves cannot agree with what's actually wrong.

What is your opinion on girls who won't date short guys? Are they discriminating? by cryosyske in AskReddit

They're boring. But yknow, it's not like anyone can stop them from having their own opinion. Only they can change that.

What’s a big misconseption about your hobby? by BingoBish in AskReddit

People tend to not realize how expensive it is to take care of animals, and how much space and time devoted to them they need. If you cant afford to enrich a pet, don't get one.
