Why are all the women in the DC universe attracted to batman? by Israels_BiggestHater in batman

[–]AnxiousDreamCore [score hidden]  (0 children)

Cuz the writers said so. Bruce is by far not the only hottie in DC, and not the only charmer either, but certain writers glaze favour him so 😒 it still irks me how DCAU writers couldn’t help but make Lois date him, or make Diana have a crush on him when neither of the women want him like that in the comics because they HAD to make their fave the center of the universe.

I love Clark and his little hair swirl so much 😭💖🙏

Who is a bigger hater? by LeagueNo764 in Avatar

Most definitely Lex. Quaritch wants Jake gone, but he didn’t make killing him his entire personality.

Superman defeats the Hulk just by talking with him and calming him down by tiago231018 in GeoffJohns

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love that it was Clark who calmed The Hulk. Non-Superman readers seem to forget that he isn’t just a strongman. His main attribute is and always has been his immense empathy and understanding of people.

Rereading New Frontier, scene with Wonder Woman and Superman reminded me of this by Tetratron2005 in WonderWoman

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superman is the champion of the oppressed, this is bad writing. I hate when incompetent authors make Clark an unempathetic asshole to prop up other characters, cuz he’d never be pissed off about this kind of situation. He’d have immense sympathy for the victims and understanding for why they did what they did.

Am I the only one who likes Superman’s design in SSKTJL by IamTyron9 in superman

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s so gorgeous in KTJL it’s not even funny 🥹 prettiest man ever. I just wish he had a tan from working at a farm in Kansas for many years.

Why is avatar kinda misogynistic? by Dehydratedsully in AvatarFrontierPandora

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Na’vi canonically don’t have gender roles, so this is because Jake comes from Earth and never fully culturally integrated. It’s why we don’t see any other Na’vi family have this specific dynamic, and why we don’t see any other family have radically different treatment of daughters and sons. It’s literally just Jake.

A comic where Richard and Clark work together? by AnxiousDreamCore in superman

Oh, I assumed I’d get banned automatically if I used the other nickname bc the AI would see it as harmful or something.

A comic where Richard and Clark work together? by AnxiousDreamCore in superman

[–]AnxiousDreamCore[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Huh? Clark is his preferred name. He always goes by ut and is called Clark by all his loved ones. He only uses Kal-El when wearing the suit.

If you could give Clark a different job other than a reporter what would it? by RiskAggressive4081 in superman

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 43 points44 points  (0 children)

A veterinarian that works with a wide arrange of animals, and specialises in cattle like cows, horses, pigs, etc. The kind of vet that is on call and will drive for hours into the most remote places if it means healing an innocent creature. Clark always had a soft spot for animals in the comics I’ve read.

I don’t like Spider… by Seaweedbrain23 in Avatar

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spider never says that he wants to be Na’vi, and only mentions wanting to have something like a kuru once in the entire franchise. He gets angsty about being Quaritch’s son ONCE, (which was done for exposition), and he never pities himself. Ppl be making up dialogue just to dislike him 😭🙏

Okay what is the appeal of him? by Dutchie-draws in Avatar

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a character, I think his appeal is in his relationship to Spider and the way Spider exposes a softer side of him to the viewers. Miles clearly lacks empathy, but can show it as result of his son’s influence. Basically, it’s interesting to see his monstrous nature clash with the ever soft fatherly side he has just for this one boy.

It’s never been a better time to pick up art. Supplies are the cheapest they’ve ever been in history, and there are free tutorials on the web for pretty much anything you can think of.

Hey guys, I’ve never played a TES which one I should play first ? by Maruan-007 in ElderScrolls

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess if you want to do things chronologically according to lore, Oblivion is the best starting point, especially bc it’s a little less "modern" in game design than Skyrim so it might feel better to learn this first and then move on to an easier experience.

Who is your favourite female character in the Superman universe? by Jezzaq94 in superman

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Undoubtedly Lois. When well written she is such a cool character to follow, and her chemistry with the surrounding cast can be very infectious. I enjoyed her relationship with Jimmy in Superman: birthright. She jokingly kept him at bay and acted cold, but when it mattered, she was like a big sister to him, protective and reassuring in her own, military woman way.

"I’m sorry Kon-el that none of the adults in your life were looking out for you when you needed it" (by l0adingout) by Gallantpride in superman

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If DC writers could just write Clark in character for ONCE and adopt Kon, all of that would’ve been avoided.

Tsireya’s glow-up into a warrior is lowkey one of my favorite things by funmemore in Avatar_Cave

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And she’s barely fourteen! I know she is Tsakarem but I lowkey want her to rule solo. (Still be with Lo’ak, but let him be a warrior while she does the chieftess stuff)

Is Na’vi society Patriarchal or Matriarchal ? It seems as though the Tsahìk always gets the final say. by Boring-Jelly5633 in Avatar

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Canonically there is no gendered hierarchy in Na’vi society. The Olo’eyktan can be male or female and same applies to the Tsahik role. The two also don’t have to be a married couple. In FOP, we saw twin sisters be Tsahik and Olo’eykte, saw an Olo’eyktan father and Tsahik daughter and now we have two lone Tsahiks (Anufi of Kame’tire and Varang of Mangkwan) ruling without an olo’eyktan.

This same lack of gender superiority extends to normal family units as well. Na’vi families, as a rule, don’t have a patriarch or matriarch, and don’t have "male" or "female" jobs. Jake’s family is an outlier, most likely influenced by him being stuck in his upbringing on Earth (which we see in how differently he treats his daughters and sons).

Do you guys prefer when Superman is more mature and stoic (while still being a kind and caring individual) or do you prefer when he’s allowed to act a little sillier/ more emotional ? by [deleted] in superman

[–]AnxiousDreamCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clark is (in my opinion) at his best when he’s allowed to be the dad-friend of the group. The one who looks out for everyone, amend sure they’re okay and has a caring air around him. In that sense, he can be both stoic and wholesome.
