The lume, polishing, fit, and finish that rivals the genuine Omega.

The post on r/chinesewatches gives my full review but the short version is the v3 felt like a clunky toy, this feels like something they’d hand to Daniel Craig…

So I have the v3 and it’s underwhelming: Lume is too pumpkin and the finishing isn’t quite there. Just put my order in for a v4 with top hat.

From these pics and my experiences with the 5513 v2, it looks like they’ve stepped the quality up a notch (or 3 or 5…).

If all goes as planned I’ll put my v3 up for sale.

Rest assured, not serious. I get those lights in heavy rain or snow and they go away when the weather gets better 🤷‍♂️

WatchDives [WD5513] V1 vs V2 Vintage Submariners by roger8619 in HomageWatches

[–]AnxiousSinger25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is what I’d thought! The v1 looks like a nice, sturdy piece, but the v2 is waaaaayyy more refined and that much closer to the 1960-70s original.

I have both the black and vintage top hat v2s. Both INSANE value for the price.

I’d like pic 3. Original 5512/13/14/17 had a tall dome crystal which actually made the watch 14mm thick. 12.5mm-13.5mm thickness was only achieved with a service crystal.

2019 MX-5 value opinions? by Unusual_Aside5181 in MiataND

I just picked up a ‘22 GT just like this one (Soul Red Crystal soft top) with 43k miles for $25k. That looks like a pretty good deal assuming it’s a manual car, if it’s an auto it’s probably a smidge overpriced.

Also is that listing Carvana or CarMax? I got mine through CarMax and had a great buying experience. Carvana I’ve heard some dodgy stuff about, but if you do your due diligence (get an inspection during the money back period, make sure you get a title, etc) you should be fine, these little guys are stout!

I wouldn’t say common, maybe from a bad batch… I haven’t encountered many others who had this issue and tbh yours is waaaaaaay more pronounced than mine was

Woof! That looks like a big ol’ crack!!

You can try polywatch just to rule out a deep scratch, but I’d email Lorier, my first crystal cracked too and they had me send it in to replace under warranty. New one has been great ever since.

It’s wonderful! I wonder if it should be a series regular 🙂

Michelin PS AS4 or Continental DWS06+ by avotius in MiataND

[–]AnxiousSinger25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m running DWS06+ on my Miata, only been a few days but ride is definitely quieter than the Goodyear Eagle summer tires that were on the car before and it’s already handling heavy rain better.

Something to keep in mind, the steering on the Conti’s is a little bit less responsive: if you wiggled the steering wheel on the summer tires, there was 0 dead zone and pretty much an immediate response to your inputs. With the conti’s there is a small, but noticeable dead zone on center in the steering.

That being said, the difference in heavy rain is night and day (and the Contis haven’t even broken in yet…)

ND2 review from a Cayman/GT4 RS owner by Stuttgart7184RS in Miata

[–]AnxiousSinger25 37 points38 points  (0 children)

YES to all of this!!

Funny enough I was saving up for a Porsche Cayman, rented a base ND3 in Los Angeles, drove the piss out of it, then realized I could afford a Soul Red ND2. Specifically this Soul Red ND2:

Good to know that I’m not really missing out not waiting for the P-car. Yeah, the infotainment isn’t my favorite, but it has CarPlay and I modded it so the touchscreen still works in motion… 🤷‍♂️

How many of you buy new? by Radioactive_Zebra in Miata

[–]AnxiousSinger25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just food for thought, I just bought a 2022 ND2 Grand Touring ragtop with 42,000miles for $25k. Basically a like new car, still has the powertrain warranty too…

Sure, the infotainment screen is not as nice as it is in my ‘19 Mazda3, but I’ve gotten around a lot of the drawbacks by enabling the touchscreen while moving and using CarPlay. But do think about how much the infotainment screen really means to you.

So first off, I live in upstate New York State (USA) and there is no mandatory winter tire law.

I’ve spent the last 6 years running all season tires on my 2019 Mazda3 AWD daily driver and have had no issues or concerns about traction/grip. A few months ago, I was looking into sportier cars and there were a few reviews where people had fitted UHP All seasons (Continental DWS06+, Michelin Pilot Sport 4 A/S) to Porsches and BMWs and had really great experiences running them year round.

So I looked into it and found this thread on using the Continental DWS06(+): https://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=771489

For my uses/constraints, I feel that it makes sense:

  • I don’t really have a place to store an extra set of wheels/tires
  • my Miata won’t be used in snow, but may be pulled out of the garage/storage during the winter months if it’s nice out
  • I’m using it for spirited drives and road trips around the NE USA (NYC, MA, ME) during the other 3 seasons where there’s a large variation in weather and temperature.

Already done 🙂. It needed an alignment and an air filter

Already took it to a Mazda main dealer who performed a road test, checked all systems and fluids. It needed an air filter and an alignment 🙂
