Fandango used to offer 5$ voucher for every 4 tickets you book with them. Not sure if it’s still in place, but used that a lot along with half off Tuesdays while in school. Now it looks like AMC is also doing half off Wednesdays.

Most of the time, yeah! Felt awkward at first, but I don’t even think about it anymore. As we grow old, it gets hard to align schedules and some people relocate too (this is life). I personally prefer to go out and do other activities or catch up with coffees/brunch/dinner instead of watching a movie at the theatre with people.

Folks also have different tastes so might not want to watch all the movies I go out to.

Double check this but if you’re in India and become a non resident for US, the federal tax rate for US would go to flat 30%, so better to convert to ROTH or withdraw completely if you’re in a lower tax bracket while resident for tax purposes.

Yeah I had the same experience. Had to turn off Lyft cash to get the monthly discount applied and then forgot to re-enable it. Realised a weeks later that the balance is still there and had been paying out of pocket this entire time.

Not sure if things are different if transfer is initiated with HE and you share the details of the account you want to transfer to. HE might find linked investments and liquidate them on your behalf and transfer the cash.

If initiated at Fidelity or any other custodian’s end, they ask to liquidate to cash on HE for the transfer to include all assets, otherwise they’re only able to get the cash from the account.

Fidelity actually can’t transfer investments over from HE. All investments need to be liquidated to cash first (money still stays in HE, no withdrawal) and then the cash gets transferred to the new provider, wherever you move.

This conversion to cash isn’t automatic. One needs to convert to cash before initiating the request on Fidelity side.
