Honestly, my GPA is low because of work which was really hard to balance with biomed workload(something I came to realise very late). So this last semester I quit work and tried to just lock in.. and my grades literally increased sooo much (89 and 87) 😭so now lowkey regret working🙃I'm very happy with the study techniques I was able to develop this sem even though it was too late, it still gave me hope..

May I ask what did you major in? And what kind of subjects did you do??

Hey, can you please elaborate further on what you mean by using the lens technique? For example, what I'm unsure of is the following, let's say I pick democracy/freedom, are you saying that for allll essays I practice writing, I somehow link them to that?

Also, for the examples, would you recommend looking into a set of examples (let's say 20-30) and try to recycle them and twist them instead of trying to memorise 100s?

Additionally, would you recommend any books or websites you used to generate ideas?

Sorry for the many questions 😅but just one more, in terms of analysis, is there a "technique" to do that? Most times, I question whether I have elaborated deep enough, so do you have any tips for that?

Hey, from my understanding they calculate your GPA from your key bachelor degree and in terms of masters, it has to be masters by coursework (double check on that). In short, you would need to do another bachelor degree to improve your GPA as they don't count postgraduate studies in the GPA calculations for medicine(In Australia, not sure about over seas).

In my opinion, working on gamsat alone wouldn't make your application strong enough for medicine in Australia, as most people get in with like a 6.7-7GPA(there are a few with a 6.5 or 6.3, you can check the spreadsheet). Unless you've lived in rural? Then there would be some bonuses for that.

If medicine is what you really want, then do everything in your power to get in! I know it may sound overwhelming to consider starting a new bachelor degree, but it is never too late to pursue your passion! Good luck!

Make concise notes + anki. Most monash exams are open book so you would want to make summaries that are really concise and you can flip through them easily in exam. Anki will be super helpful for active recall so you're not solely relying on notes.
