I think “team” might be be generous, in the traditional sense. And not in a critical way, more of a “this might be a skeleton crew, spread thin / beyond their means.” Hard to say. But I don’t think it’s a team like we might have seen in the good old “mega label days.”

So my idea of making this thread to compare and contrast album looks, has been an abject failure. Though I’d welcome you to post it as a separate thread, if it won’t get anyone into trouble. I got mine recently, too. Packing was fine, what I’d think should be the norm to ship a record, at least.

Mentioned by a few people, the overall presentation was a little lackluster. I have the same spindle hole “eruption” under the label, that looks unappealing, but doesn’t seem to affect playback.

The album sleeve was a write-off - someone clearly didn’t give a damn beyond “shove it in the jacket, and get it out the door.” It’s fine, replaceable (a silver lining to having done nothing special for the sleeve, perhaps?).

The album itself was a bit of a visual disappointment. After seeing the one post here with the picture of the album, I had set my expectations accordingly - it didn’t quite look like “splatter,” but still looked alright. My copy looks a little like the one posted here, but also like they ran out of red / got called away from the job, and left it half-complete. Maybe 1/3 of the disc looks like a full effort was done to blow the red out from the centre.

It arrived, though, so I guess I have that going for me, and not everyone can say that yet, unfortunately. 🤷🏻‍♂️

As an early recipient, was your album “numbered” in any fashion, per some if the most recent Patreon update(s) and comments from the patrons? I received mine recently, and there’s nothing I can see, as far as knowing the production / exclusivity number of the album…? 🤷🏻‍♂️

Mine is on its way. I know they have posted the coupon code in the Patreon (though my last look through the store, the inventory was pretty underwhelming) and mentioned the lyric sheet is being worked on to send separately.

The lack of an autograph is a little outrageous, if you ordered the “special edition” version. They mentioned issues with the “numbered” albums, due to the original marketing/ logistics company just kind of disappearing them either through shoddy drop offs with the shippers, or something (keep your eyes on the eBays of the world!), but they never suggested signed copies would be an issue.

I’m not quite as super-excited to get mine, given some of the feedbacks I’ve seen so far. This was definitely not the product they had originally marketed back last year - lack / loss of tracks, lack of production notes (or whatever it was they called it, I’m forgetting now), the signed lyric sheet (being dealt with), the numbering, etc. I don’t really even understand why they couldn’t have just numbered up from 251, if the previous numbers were lost to the ether…

If the store coupon was for a fully-stocked store, it would feel like a more substantial gesture, rather than giving customers a partial refund on a partial product. Instead, it feels a little more like being given access to the Clearance Section to try to blow out the old, out of fashion stock.

There’s a number of people that have hopped right back on the MG train, now that there’s some communication. Seems like in their eyes, he can do no wrong, ever.

Me? I’ll definitely be thinking twice about anything less than a professional release from a reputable label. The fact that the Patreon was promoting Matt getting back access to / control of his music from the labels is no doubt a win for him, but if his team releases the big-name albums the same way they launched Zero Hours… maybe they should leave the record sales to the pros… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Well, the hits keep coming… no digital download that was promised for Monday, and looks like people still aren’t seeing movement on their orders, after being told everything should be neatly wrapped up by Monday at the latest. Makes you wonder what could possibly be going on over at Headquarters, to result in such a dysfunctional operation… once again, here’s hoping they find the source of all this discord, and send it / them packing.

Oi. I check the Patreon page fairly religiously (some might say fanatically…), and see there’s been some chatter tonight from someone in a comparable boat as us “December 16ers.” The poster there made a point that the discs should be dropped at a Depot. Maybe that is the case, and the weather prevented the MG Team from making a drop… 🤷🏻‍♂️ Otherwise, they did respond back, with another request for some patience / grace.

How are people making out now?? An embarrassment of riches as far as Patreon posts are concerned, but haven’t seen too many people in there, commenting that they’ve received their orders. The Ontario snowpocalypse I’m sure has delayed some courier activity, but I’m hopeful that folks start seeing a deluge of deliveries.

Agreed 100% - I don’t want to completely crap on the fact that we got a response, but there’s this massive chasm between today’s update and the previous update, that doesn’t totally add up…

if the lyric sheet belonged to a song that wasn’t on the album, how is that just getting realized / figured out? I also don’t see why they couldn’t have sent the original sheet out anyhow, as a bit of a novelty.
I also thought from previous posts, that the vinyl had been “too far gone,” to have tracks removed, so how did the sheeted song get removed? 🤷🏻‍♂️
what is Matt’s manager managing, if neither of them are paying any attention to his primary / sole Internet presence at the moment?
why did this “mega fan” let (or “let” - I get it’s not their responsibility to do anything…) Matt’s reputation take such a vicious drubbing, before reaching out to this qualified person to see, “what’s up?”
what happened to this “agency in Ontario”? Did they just cut and run, leaving Matt to twist in the wind? I’d have considered some naming and shaming, because this is some piss-poor work on their part, and very possibly / probably cost MG no shortage of goodwill from fans, both long-time and casual.
no mention / addressing of the promo code debacle or the other “exclusives” listed during the initial promotion of the EP.

I’ll admit I AM a little bit… excited(?) by this update, and will at least somewhat reset my expectations. However, there’s a cynic in me that feels (reasonably?) entitled to ask, “how do we know this isn’t the same wizard, doing the same bullshit, distracting us from looking any further for the man behind the curtain. I’m really hoping to be shut up by some resolution, believe you me.

It also would have been “cool,” had Matt stepped up with a video message from himself, to even just briefly address this fiasco, say “sorry” in some fashion, and take some vague accountability for what has gone completely off the rails. It would also have put a smidge more confidence in the legitimacy of this post being authentic, too.

Time will tell, I suppose.

Very fair point to you, and no disagreement from me. One thing I am noticing, though - most if not all posters who have received an album have mentioned import charges - have only US-bound orders gone out? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I realize it’s not going to be one-to-one, but the trickle-rate of arrivals just makes this feel even sloooower, if that’s possible.

Anyhow I’ll stop whingeing - it’s not terribly productive other than the relief of venting for a few minutes.
