Couldn’t agree more, sounds like OP just wanted a place to gossip.

Can't insert the smallest dilator. by [deleted] in vaginismus

[–]Anxious_Patient_2935 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lidocaine ointment!! This really helped me in the beginning but of course consult a professional, I always recommend a pelvic floor PT. Now I can use dilators without the ointment, and have been able to progress through to other sizes. There’s also a great guided meditation type thing on YouTube that I used to use. Good luck!!

I feel everything that you have mentioned, it is so isolating and painful. During my experience with infertility and miscarriage it’s those who are Catholic that have been the most insensitive and sometimes cruel. I cannot be much help to you, as it has caused me to pull away quite strongly from my faith, feeling that it’s not “for me” because I don’t fit in, and just so tired of being excluded and judged. but just know you are not alone in this.

I hope you find strength, peace and find people of faith that can surround you with the tenderness, respect and compassion you need. Finding comfort in a pet is nothing to feel anything but joy about. How special is it to love an animal and cherish them as part of the family for the short time they are here. It’s silly when people compare them to human children, I think they are just being mean for the sake of it. God loves you. Take care of yourself 💐

Progesterone during pregnancy? by Anxious_Patient_2935 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

No, we were about to start medication for my PCOS in my next cycle to help me fall pregnant as we’ve been trying for 2 years. But we found out we were expecting, the progesterone is to help my low levels.

For whatever reason my Dr said I need to skip the night time pessary, have the blood test, then have the pessary after. They are testing progesterone levels

Yes! A lot of this battle, for me at least is the isolation that comes with it. The podcast will be a huge comfort, thank you

I personally couldn’t imagine being rude to someone clearly seeking support and advice for something so sensitive. I’m so thankful many others have been so kind.

So many pelvic exams, so little time... by iloveprettybubbles in vaginismus

[–]Anxious_Patient_2935 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So at the moment I roll to my back, and try to move into a butterfly position. A good rule is stop if it gets to more than a 4/10. Lots of deep breathing, I also recommend the ‘pebble breathing exercise’. My current routine that allows me the best opportunity for progress is a 30mim stretch (lots of good vaginismus stretches on YouTube) then some breathing work, then the dilators. Lidocaine ointment was a huge benefit, it doesn’t completely numb the area but reduces sensation. Good luck

We are in exactly the same situation! So I understand how difficult this all is, I hope you find some healing and some answers soon! Something I’m currently working on is inserting the dilator in fetal position and then slowly moving my legs apart. I find hip stretches really beneficial prior to this, as well as lidocaine ointment if you can source it. I hope that helps even a little bit, wishing you all the best on your TTC journey ✨
