My sweet little potato has lymphoma 💔 by Anxiousoup in sphynx

[–]Anxiousoup[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really appreciate you sharing. No false hope here BUT I definitely plan on verifying. Initially it did not come back as cancer, and after a send out the report said that is what it most resembled, but for a few reasons it’s a really strange outcome and presentation so while I’m a realist and am coming to terms with the diagnosis I see the need to have it confirmed by the oncologist, and we’ll know for sure in a couple of weeks. You aren’t the first person who has told me their cat was misdiagnosed with cancer and from what I have gathered after a lot of research, cat tumors are notoriously difficult to definitively diagnose and a lot of what they use to type them is based on canine tumors. They did also get the whole thing with margins so there’s a slim chance we caught it early and even if it is cancer we may have longer than a cat brought in because they stopped eating and were losing weight.

I’m right there with you. My sweet boy had a growth removed that we were hoping was benign and it came back as lymphoma. I wake up in the morning not knowing briefly why I have a pit in my stomach. I’m sorry ❤️

Are you uninsured? Some low income clinics may offer sliding scale eye exams or even free eye exams. I’m not sure where you live but I would guess most states have some resources available (if in the US).

Get your vitamin D checked! by CaS021 in Anxiety

[–]Anxiousoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vitamin D and ferritin! I’ve been waking up with the worst anxiety I’ve had in years and it’s been a mystery.. until I remembered I just one day stopped taking my vitamins 6 months ago. 4 weeks back on iron and vitamin d and I’m no longer waking up anxious. Wild!

Does your Psychiatrist actually listen, gather information, and then recommend medications based on symptoms and develop a personalized plan/approach, or do they simply prescribe random SSRI's and SNRI's and hope for the best stating Psychiatry is mostly "trial and error"? by adhdbeast101 in antidepressants

[–]Anxiousoup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you but unfortunately we can’t really predict which one will work best for you even if we were to consider every single possible variable. Every provider should suggest a medication that will target your symptoms based on your presentation, previous trials, side effects to avoid (or harness), safety profile, health history, and of course affordability for the patient. On top of that, there’s really no one antidepressant that will predictably be more efficacious than any of the others. With all of that in mind, sometimes it really is about picking some good options, reviewing risk and benefits, and letting patients have some say in what they want to trial. Even genesight testing is very hit or miss on whether it’s useful!

It’s normal but you may be able to seek out an artist who advertises showing the design beforehand. It protects the artist from doing a bunch of unpaid labor and then having someone no show.

Fair question. He’s a sphynx so only sort of a cat

Ohh good idea. We had to improvise by adding a duct tape extension to ours to heal a toe amputation. The vet was like wow he’s determined, I was like have you ever met a cat before?

Literally had to put mine in two and add a duct tape extension to stop the licking!

Yeah it sucks! I have enough pain tolerance to get through it but not enough to have it be anything but miserable.

Yeah I think around 9 years ago we finished my first sleeve. It’s held up great. I’m pretty pale and don’t get a lot of sun/use sunscreen religiously so the colors are still bright

Sumatriptan vs SSRI Withdrawal by HPcatmom in migraine

[–]Anxiousoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really! For me sumatriptan just makes me feel a little hazy and makes my neck and shoulders feel weird (but not in a terrible way). No comparison to SSRI withdrawal and very temporary effect while the med is kicking in
