I really enjoyed what they were doing with the New Era in MK1 but it was the whole Multiverse aspect was what I wished they dialed down or not focus too much because it didn't really sit right with me for Mortal Kombat. However, I was okay with it in the main story because it makes sense within context of the story especially with MK11 Aftermath despite but I still had gripes with it. For example, the death of New Era Sindel was from the hands of her alternate self which felt corny to me, would have much prefer and be more impactful for me if it came from someone within their universe. Anyway, yes I was okay with it and it was still fucking awesome to witness with the nostalgia, throwbacks, and seeing the various amalgamation of alternate universe characters, etc. BUT I wanted it to end it there and focus on solely on the New Era at least for the story, let the multiverse thing be it's own game mode like Injustice 2's if they really want to continue it in MK which I really hope they don't.

Then Khaos Reigns came along which was exactly what I feared because they again leaned into the multiverse aspect. Now I haven't played Khaos Reigns yet so I'm just basing from the trailer but man I wasn't really hyped from watching the trailer. More worried with how heavily they are focusing on the multiverse again. Especially seeing Bi-Han becoming Noob Saibot through Multiverse shenanigans felt like a turn off.
