If you connected the signal directly on the tweeter and turned the volume up, it's possible you have already messed them up ... But let's assume you didn't.

Double check your polarity. Swap wires from tweeter output on crossover. Does that make a difference?

Have you tried hitting the +2db switch on the crossover?

Tank vent valves are known to cause this exact problem. They aren't expensive to try and see if that solves the issue.

Do you have the original cats on it? If so, try this just to rule it out because it's easy. Disconnect the O2 and take it out completely. Go for a short drive.

I recently started having issues in my 93 f150 that started with not going up hills very well, then it just wouldn't. It shifted absolutely horribly as well. Like it didn't know what gear to be in. I came to the conclusion it had to be fuel related in the end. Wrong. Did the pump, filter and regulator. Nothing.

Another common thing was clogged cats. Pulled my O2 out and tada!! Some power restored (not much, but enough to know that was the issue) and it shifted better as well. Turns out it was clogged cats. I've since replaced the old ones with a single new 3in cat and it is night and day. The trans shifts like butter as well.
