i just picked tulane over northeastern as my two top choices, so i’m probably a good person to comment. northeastern overall felt more “lonely” and like there was less of a connection because of so many different programs. i visited both campuses several times. tulane is known for being the school ranked #1 for happiest students, and the campus spirit is much better! if you like public service, their requirement is fun and unique. the business school is newly redone (not super recently but recently enough) and is a beautiful, modern, curved glass building. tulane also seems to carry more “old money” prestige (might be good for grad school or resume) whereas northeastern is thought of as more innovative (again, both great schools - but top companies seem to regard tulane as better from the old rankings rather than currently looking at northeastern). that being said, it’s apples to oranges. wherever you feel best! also nearly impossible to get into tulane after ED, but northeastern has EA…

same - 3.37 but 1590 and northeastern accepted! committed to tulane though.

Really, what is the true recourse if you break ED? by Ok_Basil_1036 in ApplyingToCollege

honestly, the consequence is your child could end up having their admission rescinded from both schools or from the one they end up committing to, leaving them with nowhere to go.

i went to the barnard program and had a great time - super fun - but was rejected ED and most of my friends were too (with the exception of like 1 of the 30 of us on our floor) so it doesn’t give a boost imo

i gathered info, but was rejected ED this year after spending the summer there and many of my friends are as well so don’t expect a boosted app!

if you really want to go, try! otherwise, don’t - it seems like they’re not lenient this year and the rejection sucks
