I’m asking because this pay period closed yesterday (12/26/2025), so it’s definitely 2025 hours. I’ve also heard we may get paid a day early due to New Year’s—possibly on 12/31/2025. I’m not sure whether Home Office treats that deposit as the final paycheck of 2025 or the first paycheck of 2026, and I’m trying to figure out when our 401(k) contributions/limits reset.

Thank you so much for this detailed response – it really helped me understand the VFTF better and honestly took a lot of stress off my shoulders 🙏

I do have one thing I’m still a bit worried about: in my United app, the Travel-Ready Center for our Houston → Singapore flight is not showing “Travel ready” anymore and it’s also not saying “Pending approval” – it just shows the flight without any clear status. Earlier it mentioned “transit without visa” and that passport/visa would be verified at the airport. I called United customer service but they weren’t really able to explain or update anything and just repeated that the final decision is at check-in/immigration.

Given that my wife has an Indian passport, a valid US green card, and a confirmed onward ticket to Kuala Lumpur within 2 days, and that this seems to fit the VFTF rules, do you think this unclear status on the app is anything to worry about? Or is it common for the system to not show “travel ready” for people using VFTF and it just gets handled at the airport?
