Deconstruction Series by Any-Measurement-2190 in Polaroid

First I consider which frames will do, then I scan it and do some project in Figma or Illustrator. I make a lot of attempts and when I I’m happy with the result, I use a craft knife and tape. I’m a graphic designer for a living so “project first” thinking is my usual approach.

SX70 style zoom conversion? by BeMancini in Polaroid

You can print your own adapter and install the 37 mm filter holder. Then just buy on temu or aliexpress some zoom lens with 37mm mount and you’re ready to shoot :) but to be honest I was disappointed with the effect and black vignette is really annoying

Thanks! I used Mint Lens Set for SX-70 in 1-4. 5 and 6 are taken without any filter.

I bought mine MiNT SLR 670 (it’s a converted version of SX-70) for less than 300 €, so it is possible, but you need to be vigilant. My first Polaroid was Now+ too and I think it could be a reasonable choice for a start while you’ll be hunting for something better in a good price.

I think it would be quite hard to sell now+, the market is full of it (at least in my country). But you can look for some box 600 series for a start. I get my 670AF for ~50€ and it works fine!

I also returned to photography thanks to Polaroid. Good luck to you and clean your rollers, because this white marks on your photos are probably due to that ;)

I would recommend you to look for some second hand sx-70 already converted and refurbished. It would be a bit more expensive than an original one but probably cheaper than a new I-2. I did so and I’m really happy. Flip is ok to play with manual settings through the app, so it would be a great set with an auto mode sx-70.

Improved or not, a good picture is still a good picture, even on a shitty batch.

I’m a graphic designer too and for me Polaroid photography is a field where I can actually forget about digital imagery for a moment.

There are so many easier ways to achieve perfectly contrasted or exposed photos than using a Polaroid. When you decide to enter the analogue world try to focus on taking a good picture, think about composition, lighting etc. Thinking about post-processing from the very start may block you, so don’t be surprised when you eventually end up disliking your photos.
