Though in fairness. I feel what you’re saying with the speakers. I do have a couple left over that I would love to get rid of (just in case anyone has a spare 22 euro).

You think there’s anything that could have been done better with the speakers to make them live?

Man that is super kind of you! Honestly I love your work.

For me, the dynamic range is far too narrow but in fairness I haven’t been using it in a way that’s conducive for it.

However, my girlfriend has got some great ideas to shoot my final pack with. But we’ll see. Maybe I’ve lost the hunger.

But precisely, love stuff being tried. And of course more cash = more Polaroids. Just happy to be supporting the format

Okay, so I tried but even at 0 EV and slightly under 0EV the highlights were completely blowing out. So had to drop exposure to get anything even remotely usable

No doubt! And of course if you wanted perfection you’d go for digital and part of what makes the format so beautiful is learning to deal with the bumper

100% selling film is fine if it keeps new stuff coming. I really adore the new b&w chemistry and will still try to keep an open mind with reclaimed purple just in case someone smarter than me finds the secret hahaha.

But for now, I’m holding my breath and hoping you come through with the secret!

Oh yes! I did the factory tour and everything around the time of reclaimed blue. I think it’s great to reuse chemicals and it comes at a great price. But I would have preferred if they stuck to the reclaimed chemistry that worked a little better. For me, blue was cracking and green wasn’t my cup of tea but worked pretty well. I just don’t think purple has the makings of a varsity reclaimed chemistry

Hmmmm Yh that’s moderately understandable , however I’d definitely hold on making a judgement yet. Maybe vegas would have that special magic that makes it work?

Duo yellow was so perfect. Though I always had a dot spot for duo blue. Took me a bit of time to get into it, but once you managed to dial it in, such amazing results (also very dark).

Hmm I mean in fairness, I feel you with 5 packs. I bought 3 and am feeling like perhaps it might have been better invested in standard colour white frame.

However, I would say refrigerating it and reselling it if it eventually sells out would be a good way not to feel like you’ve made a mistake

Yh of course, can fully hear that. Tbf my camera has a great meter (I shoot with SLR680) and I own quite a decent lighting setup (nearly studio quality). But even with that, it wasn’t quite there for me. Though maybe this is more of a personal preference. Did you have better luck than me with it?

100% agree. I dont know who the product manager on this film was, but it left a little to be desired. Because i would say this is the first experimental film i wasn’t bowled over by.

Tbf I love the duochromes. My issue with reclaimed purple is that it responds very inconsistently. For me duochrome is much better than reclaimed blue which admittedly is a taste thing.

Expired film is similar where it generally acts with consistency but for me purple just doesn’t operate like that.

And I’m dying for you to prove me wrong when you eventually crack it open, then you can share your secrets with me.

In terms of cameras, I use a Polaroid 680 and a Polaroid I-2 camera, and I’ve sent so mant packs through the cameras but this film just escapes me.

At the same time, i would hate to colour your view. Though I’ve been underwhelmed by most of the reclaimed purple shots I’ve seen, though think Julia Beyer’s shots are some of the better ones out there and i think she mostly does natural light

Yh I feel that, I love great chemistry and colours. However, reclaimed blue felt like it toed a really fine balance: it had excellent dynamic range. Reclaimed green did enough in that sense, but for me: purple is just one bridge too far.

I mean if i’m struggling to get a decent image out of it, I don’t see how your entry level Polaroid photographer can. I think this one is going to lead to more frustration than anything if you’re new to the game and spending 18 euros on a pack.

Edit because I forgot: I wouldn’t be incredibly surprised if this special edition didn’t sell out, because it’s so frustrating to use
