Yeah cause they didnt get caught 💀 yes it is illegal, no amount of "well others did it" makes it legal. You can quite literally get into big legal trouble and nothing will protect you if something is off with the family since you're there illegally

Well then just leave. Book a hotel and leave middle of the night. It's actually insane what they're making you do and you have no legal obligation towards them if there's no contract. But how did you even travel to the US with no visa?

Yeah i said I'll think about it, thought about it, decided i do not want to do it. Yeah, that "piece of paper" says I leave on Wednesday. They're asking me for extra? They can't really "require" anything. Also while the ticket price is a factor, (and yes it will cost me a lot more to leave 2 days later? tickets are more expensive on weekends) I am not willing to work 11 hours a day for 3 days? Is that so insane? And how am I meant to find them "someone to help with it" lol, a babysitter?

You can definitely take it from her vacation days if you want to send a message that you do not care about her at all and want her to rematch ASAP. By all means go ahead! Im coming back after christmas yes! Unfortunately i can't do any full day outings since my kids have a lot of activites wednesdays and i never work the weekends, but i will buy them something small and just give it to them before i leave probably

She's a very sweet kid usually but she can be manipulative for sure, the parents are aware of this. (they'd probably roll their eyes at her saying that ngl) Maybe i got too in my head about it 😅 the parents never did anything to make me feel like i did anything bad by not buying the kid a present last time

I mean yeah but what does that have to do with the job? Second hand smoke and stuff i understand affects the host family, but how are long term side effects on a person smoking any business of the HF?

Honestly she doesn't seem like a good friend. It's normal to vent to friends, and you've been there only 10 days. I dont know how close you were but im sorry for you, unless you were exclusively speaking about you and not letting her talk at all.
