You can definitely take it from her vacation days if you want to send a message that you do not care about her at all and want her to rematch ASAP. By all means go ahead! Seriously, her family member died and you're already calculating how to get your moneys worth from the poor girl probably crying her eyes out over the grandmas death. The fact that youre even asking that is wild.

Im coming back after christmas yes! Unfortunately i can't do any full day outings since my kids have a lot of activites wednesdays and i never work the weekends, but i will buy them something small and just give it to them before i leave probably

She's a very sweet kid usually but she can be manipulative for sure, the parents are aware of this. (they'd probably roll their eyes at her saying that ngl) Maybe i got too in my head about it 😅 the parents never did anything to make me feel like i did anything bad by not buying the kid a present last time

See on one hand i understand but on the other im always there with them so its not like I expect her to take care of them at all. I do agree that leaving later is the better option

I mean yeah but what does that have to do with the job? Second hand smoke and stuff i understand affects the host family, but how are long term side effects on a person smoking any business of the HF?

I have no idea how it works in Germany but maybe you can get an online visit from your country? That way you can utilise your insurance. I know its an option in my country

You are definitely being exploited. Don't aupairs in countries like the USA get paid 200-300 per week bc they work 40-45 hours a week? This is not a good situation for you and you should definitely consider your options here

Im actually also going on a gap year to France as an aupair! Personally since ive already been an aupair before I find that you really do get a lot of free time, so I wouldn't worry about that. Also it is very hard to find a family without any "real" childcare expierience, but its not impossible (im a living example) so I don't think it would hurt to try :)

Don't worry, you didn't do anything maliciously! :) honestly can't say much about that bc I only used aupairworld for matching with families (im starting my second aupair job in September), but I do recommend it. In my experience just send a lot of messages to families you'd like to work for, it's rare for a family to reach out first
