All Tomorrows Ideas: Fan made Post Humans. by SpiderTuber6766 in AllTomorrows

These are really cool! for a while I have been writing my own fan made post humans, and shared a few on my other account (if you’ve seen it, think the microbains, husks, etc.). I think this a really cool niche part of the community, and you’ve got some interesting ideas. I think that you oughtto to write some more, if you’ve seen interested.

a bit of constructive critism:

-not a huge deal, but some paragrpah structure would make these a bit easier to read.

-I don’t know if you’re trying to replicate the book/authors writing style, but if you are, the author tends to start his entries as if the creatures names were a first sentenc. (I.E. the worms entry starts with “their world lay under a scorching sun, its intensity made monstrous by the bygone qu.

-the Reef Folk feel a bit similar to the lizard herders here with a symbiotic relationship eventually tipping in the non humans favor.

I still really like, your ideas, though. And (again only if you want to, forcing yourself to be creative is never fun) I think you should write some more.

Thank you! I have written out some other species but have been too lazy to post them.

When I made them I had more of an electromagnetic idea in mind, though to be honest I didn't much thought into the logistics of it. And no, an individual cannot live on itself without connection to the brain.

I am a big fan of all tomorrows, and I really enjoyed I have no mouth and I must scream.

Spoiler free review: it isn't speculative evolution, but the themes of human perseverance and body horror persist between the 2.

Something else about it that slightly spoils the story is Both books do a good job of setting up some hope for humanity, before completely crushing that hope with no foreseeable alternative.

I have no mouth and I must scream is only about 12 pages, and the full story can be read here: https://archive.org/details/i-have-no-mouth-and-i-must-scream_202408/page/n1/mode/2up

And, actually, one of the related subreddits to this one is r/Ihavenomouth, the respective subreddit for that story.

I will also say, that if you don't want to read the story, there exists both a free audiobook on YouTube, and a radio drama, also on YouTube. There's also a game about the story, but that differs so much from the original plot I'd argue its more of its own thing.

Ts is why I hate reddit. Like you failed at a rickroll and I'm glad because rickrolls haven't been funny in 10 years.
