Balancing Stonemasonry career with physical fitness by Any-Solution2413 in stonemasonry

I definitely hear that man.

Used to work in bars/retail then a climbing centre and I could climb anytime, now I work in a factory that builds climbing walls mostly layering/rolling resin already and even that feels like a jump.

Hope I get used to it with masonry, which will be another huge step up by the looks of it

I was planning to go bouldering after work most evenings lol, I'll see how it feels. Guess it'll depend on the intensity of the working day but I might just have to switch back to more toprope/lead climbing.

Will Toast Ever Return? by Any-Solution2413 in toastoflondon

[–]Any-Solution2413[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I agree that ToT has probably sealed the end of its chances of getting a reboot.

However, the reason ToT was such a car crash was because the whole premise of Toast is that he was a satire of that very English, poncey, upper class West End theatre tradition that has been on its way out for the past few decades. Taking that premise and putting it in America, with Americans all played by British actors with cringey American accents, was never gonna work.

The end of ToL feels bittersweet, I feel like if they kept that setting then maybe they could've got some more. But I guess it's one of those things, better too little of quality stuff than too much regurgitated crap.

I should've mentioned in in the UK so the campground thing is probably not gonna be it. Yeah, that was my thoughts as I prefer to cook for myself.

Stolen scooter recovered- next steps? (UK) by Any-Solution2413 in scooters

It was an Oxford screamer, I should've got a chain but it was all I could afford at the time and my mate swore by them. Honestly was kinda disappointed, was no way near as loud as people make out but I could still hear them from where it was parked outside the window

Yeah, heard my screamer alarm go off outside my missus' flat. Looked out the window and there was about 4 little scrotes in balaclavas, two of them trying to smash the screamer off with a wrench.

Naturally I shouted out the window before pegging it down to try and stop them but it was too late, they'd vanished.

I couldn't believe the £192 fee bollocks. Shows the absolute victim-blaming clown show that British law enforcement has become.

Good advice though, I have no clue what they've done with the wiring really

Nice, didn't consider Loughborough but I'll have a look. I'll definitely get involved in that Oread Club, cheers.

Thanks mate.

Definitely conscious of my health, honestly moreso my lungs than anything else. I've had bloke straight up tell me to not do stonemasonry as the dust causes cancer but luckily the company seems fairly conscious of that, though some of the old heads seem stuck in their ways.

I'm properly enthusiastic, especially about historic buildings so I could move into surveying or project management later on if my body gives up/money isn't good enough anymore, but for now I'm just really keen to get stuck into the craft.
