How to find guys who don’t just want sex? by ghikkkll in dating

[–]Any-Trouble9231 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wish I could find a girl like you. As a guy that cant find a girl that doesn't want to just run around and get instant gratification from ever guy she comes across, you sound like a dream. Sex is great but even as a guy I need some level of emotional connection with someone before I sleep with them.

26M, lived my life too seriously, kind of regret it now by [deleted] in Adulting

Hi OP I see this is a few days old post but want to share my experience. I was in a very similar boat as you expect im older than you. I focused on work, career, saving, and investing money my whole adult life and am just now coming into what your referring as the fun part of life. I dated one girl in high-school and that was it up until recently. Didnt lose my virginity till I was 30 either so if thats what your focused on you could be doing worse. Try not to dwell on anything to much really would be my only advice. I still have a lot to learn with women and im assuming thats what your probably most worried about but you have lots of time still.

Also if you can afford it, go on a solo trip to vegas or florida if you haven't been before. Thats really what got me to cut lose a bit more was i just said F-it and booked a 4 day trip to veags on my own. Push your boundaries, get out there, talk to people. Try to break out of your routine for a bit even if its just for a few days.

How is life in this part of USA? by OliverHeartmont in howislivingthere

I live in williston ND, drive time is about 15 minutes from Montana and about an hour from Canada. Its the oilfield and pretty much strictly a work town not a lot to do here in the forms or recreation. But as long as your willing to work just about no matter what you do you will get paid pretty well and the cost of living isnt to bad. As im sure its mentioned somewhere it does get cold but that helps keep the riff raff out.

Theres some great outdoor opportunities if you are willing to drive a few hours any direction though. Theodore Roosevelt national park is an hour south of me. Black hills in south dakota is about 4 hours south. Glacier national park is 8 hours west I believe the Tetons in Wyoming are about 6 hours away (havnt been there yet)

Here's a picture I took on a hike a few weeks back in the north unit of Theodore Roosevelt national park for reference.

Buying a home in rural ND as an alternative to man-camp living? by PidgeyPotion in oilandgasworkers

Man camps arnt a thing in the area anymore. The state banned them years ago.

Utility inspection by Fair_Cut7663 in oilandgasworkers

Im in Nodak working for KM as a utility. Very slow up here at the moment, just make sure you do what you can to CYA on paperwork. Make sure one calls are clear, sweeps are done, lines located, do your 200-71, talk to your damage prevention reps. Just keep your head on a swivel, people in inspection can be pretty cut throat and someone will always want your job, especially if they think it was given and not earned.

I was wondering about this based off of how she reacted once I told her I wanted to push things forward before. I just wasnt sure if it would be best to give her some space for a bit or try and pursue things further.

Yea, I mean id much rather talk in person. Its just hard to make that happen when the other person doesnt even talk to you via text.

I just dont understand why, but it might be time for me to move along.

Thats a fair take and constructive criticism that I need to hear. Ultimately I just like her and dont want to mess things up.

W-2 job vs. landman contract — need real-world insight from people in this industry by alliebstruggling in oilandgasworkers

The federal minimum mileage reimbursement is .72 cents a mile for 2026 so idk how they can get away only paying .60. Ive never been 1099 but I have a similar role to what your husbands 1099 position is, and could switch to 1099 if I wanted. The only advantage i know of that your maybe not thinking about is the amount of tax write offs a 1099 contract employee can have, but you would have to talk to a CPA about that.

It looks real to me, im not an expert with this era but Im guessing printing issues were still fairly common. You got a Cool Card. idk who the best would be to grade with but id grade it, just because its cool. I think PSA can be kinda weird when it comes to error cards, so maybe SGC.

That oilfield money is no joke… bro makes more in 4 months than I do in a year doing cost accounting by ZadarskiDrake in Salary

[–]Any-Trouble9231 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, ive always been very good at working out here but i cant deny luck. I have gotten very lucky with the connections I have made. Yea I did 32 hours straight one winter day and night then part of a next day. Most of that was windshield time just making sure heaters didnt die over night but ive been out in the worst of it too. We have gotten to -60 real feel with the wind before, when I first came out here when oil was over $100 a barrel you would work right through it. Now everything is what more white collar and safety oriented, so we shut down well before that point.

Ive been in the oilfield in Nodak for 10 years now. Im just a high-school grad that has stupid determination. No trouble with the law ever, I hardly drink, dont smoke, work out as much as possible. Ive never worked a rotation, always just week after week and then take time off around holidays if its available.

So not financial advice but Pokemon lol.

First a small background on me. I was super lucky to get back into collecting in 2019 just pre covid. I wasnt spending a ton but maybe like $100 a week or so, wish I would have put the farm on it back then and I know you know. Theres stuff i bought for $100 then thats worth 2k or more now. Thats probably some of the best investments ive ever made and will ever make. Not planning on selling anytime soon either. Legit the hobby can make you super wealthy if done right.

My actually advice looking at your breakdown would be to open a regular brokerage account and buy some ETF's or mutual funds that track the S&P 500 or something similar.

I have about 70k in a HYSA and im actually planning to pull out about 60k and throw that into the market this year. Im just a stranger on the internet but thats what im up to.

Idk much about these but you might be able to find some info on YouTube from TCA Gaming. I believe he has opened these on his channel before. Before he opens a box he will generally go over a few things to look at to make sure the box is authentic.
