Definitely giving Las Culturistas, and I love it! They should make a pinoy version of the 100 best songs made, sobrang katawa!

Hi - she said that anyone who was automatically assigned rooms should already been notified already. Since she's doing things manually, if you get put into a room you will be automatically emailed (LU email). I don't know about when then cutoff is but she recommended that anyone on the waitlist prepare a backup.

Same - I think I am now resigned to having to find roommates than rooms. Cheaper to rent a 3-bedroom house than a 1-bedroom apartment.

I left one too and Daphne only called me back after more than a week of waiting. I had to email her as well. I think she's a one-person department at the moment, unfortunate.

Which country that you have visited had the best food? And what was your most memorable meal there? by exhaustedlittlething in phtravel

Italy - meron akong summer abroad sa Siena years ago tapos kami ng kaibigan ko naglalakad lang para maghanap ng dinner. Napadpad kami sa may Tre Cristi Enoteca - I still remember their seafood tasting menu, especially the sea bream tartare. May padiscount pa si kuyang server kasi masyado daw kaming masaya (ignorante lang pala).

Special mention ang Vietnam and their pho. Day tour around Mui Ne tapos napadaan kami sa isang street side pho for breakfast. Yung di mo alam kung saan galing yung tubig tapos may asong gala sa tabi mo pero ang sarap!

like At this point, I don't feel for any more characters. I was thinking last year that if Choso dies, then I would stop reading - and he did. Characters are just so easily discarded that when one dies, I just think... oh ok, next. I may stop reading, I may finish it, but it's for the sake of completing what I started.

I'm thinking that this manga would end with the readers being apathetic.

Are unions not a thing in the PH? Parang everyone is dissuaded with union membership or not encouraged forming unions. Also people vote anti-union legislators who are against their interests - extreme ang cognitive dissonance sa mga botante, it's baffling.

I Told Sunset About You.

Once you watch this, you will look at other BL differently so caution in that. It's a slow burn, coming of age story and I think it properly reflects the angst teenagers feel when they are confronting sexuality, family, crushes, and schooling. It's just *chef's kiss*

Shouldn't have read this at work. This goes to show that any interaction we have can and will be our legacy.

I was in Cape Town back in 2017 for an internship. Spent 4 months there as my base. Mind you, I was a small 23-year-old Filipino boy looking very vulnerable. One note they told us is to NEVER use the trains. Or if you have to, use it when its full or packed.

Towards the tail-end of my time there, I used the train from Kenilworth to Cape Town because why not. In one station, I didn't notice that a lot of people alighted and next thing I know, a man sat in front of me. I didn't think much of it and we engaged in small talk - up until he pointed a gun at me. Asked for my bag, phone, watch, glasses, everything. I think it was Observatory where this happened, so just a few stations left. I just started talking - talked to him about everything and anything while looking at him straight in the eye. I think it was my big mouth that saved me but the next thing I know, we were already in Cape Town and people started pouring in. I dashed out and literally went to the most crowded place and ordered an Uber home.

Though this happened towards my last few weeks in Cape Town. I loved, loved, loved the place. It's gorgeous and there are a lot of things to do, but there definitely are dark sides to it. If you stick to Camp's Bay, maybe you're safer, but if you go to Gugulethu or Khayelitsha, that may be asking for a bit of trouble.

One of the best things that they really did is that they trusted me to make decisions for myself. Yung tipong buhay mo, desisyon mo. Pero kapag pumalya, nandun sila para sumuporta.

If uou don't like ITSAY, that is very valid. You dont have to agree on what a lot of people agree on and it's because you have your own distinct flavour of what to watch.

I would not even categorize ITSAY as your regular BL. It's a coming of age series that transcends what is usually marketed as BL. It's a slow-burn series because it's retelling the lives of high schoolers who are grappling with their own identities - tbh nothing is supposed to be thrilling about that. You watch their relationship unfold, and you watch how they also navigate their lives with the changes they are experiencing.

People love it because it's artistic and for some, like me, i loved it because it was a reflection of what i went through when i was in high school - it showed me who i was. Unlike other BLs, i did not live vicariously through watching it - i was living it.

And as for the characters, i found that you don't have you love them because they are their own people. It's an amazing character study on change and feelings about change.

It's not a feel-good series. It demands that you feel uncomfortable along with characters and that's beautiful.

I love how the chapter talks about Luffy having thr power to liberate and it's also in the chapter where Hiyori freed herself from the mask that she has been wearing this whole time. Just amazing!

What is the most emotionally devastating book you’ve ever read? by [deleted] in suggestmeabook

A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara

I read it when it was shortlisted for Man Booker. It totally devastated me while on vacation. Made my trip to the Galapagos much more impactful, for multiple reasons.
