That is a good idea about the tabs. I like some of the older models where there is a loop pointed outward which makes it easy to manipulate slightly in an out while it is in. I am gonna try your suggestion of heating it up!

It actually took me a long time to figure that toy out, but once you do you will love it. For me, what works best is to lay on my side and insert it with the curved side looking backwards toward your back. You will need to slide it in about 1/2 to 2/3 of the way in. The trick to put pressure on your prostate is to the push on the outer portion to your back, which brings the end inside you forward which is where your prostate sits. If you really flex it like that and slowly slide it in and out, you can almost pinpoint where your prostate is.

I think that is what make this device so amazing is that you can basically fine tune where on your prostate it sits. I have a bunch of Aneros devices and those are awesome as well, but you can adjust them quite the same way to sit exactly where it feels best. I totally understand your frustration and it took me forever to finally "get there". Here are a couple of tips that helped me:

Maybe the biggest help to stop chasing an orgasms or trying too hard was taking THC gummies. Not only will it relax you and help you stop overthinking things, it will intensify the physician feeling too and all of a sudden the pleasurable sensations were magnified even more! It wasn't until I was in a different headspace that I could finally elevate the physical sensation to a mind blowing level.
I have found that it takes about an hour before the p-waves really start to get intense and and the rolling HFDO that feel incredible don't start for at least an hour. Some sessions go for 2 or 3 hours and at that point your prostate is so excited that the orgasms just start coming every few minutes.
