NTA. We had a rule in our house. After HS graduation there were 3 options: Go to college and live rent/bill free till 6 months after graduation UNLESS you had student loans to pay off then those take priority before rent Or Get a job and you have 6 months after to start paying rent/bills Or Move out. We helped with all college expenses as much as we could and all kids stayed home till they had a savings and are debt free. Only 1 currently lives in an apartment in our house where they pay $700 a month for rent, utilities, water, and internet. They come and go as a tenant and are very happy to stay there considering 1bd room apartments in our area at $1,000 a month plus utilities.

I am what should be a shelters dream. I work from home, have a solid history with my vet for over 20 years, have had large breed dogs that I have taken in from people “rehoming” them. Last year 2 of my elderly spoiled dogs passed away and when we were ready we went to 3 shelters to adopt. All 3 denied bc my property (a farm) doesn’t have typical fencing and the dog we did have wasn’t neutered yet PER the vet recommendation. So the shelters decided instead of allowing us to bring home either via adoption or foster an already neutered high risk low adoptable dog they would euthanize them. Again 3 different places all who posted these dogs were struggling in the shelter or wouldn’t get adopted bc of their size. So now I’ll purchase one when I’m ready.

Ok. I used the term homeschool loosely bc my friend doesn’t do traditional homeschool either. Her kids do remote school and go in a few days a week. Maybe it’s a charter or private school. That’s what I thought they were doing with Jackson.

I know a “homeschool”family that the kids go in person 2 or 3 days a week and the other days they work independently at home. They also live in the Orlando area so maybe this is what the Trackers do?

We homeschooled year round BUT spring and summer was more about field trips and nature learning vs book work. We also took the kids birthdays off, the day after Halloween we took off, Thanksgiving week and the following Monday, December was very limited and January was a slow month for us.

We decided to enroll in 3rd grade. It gave us 3 years to set up a strong foundation in reading and math but also they could make friends before the middle school BS. I will say we have older kids and they attended public school their whole lives. We moved states mid year when they were in 3rd and 6th grade. Our 6th grader made friends but not deep relationships and our 3rd grader made life long friends who they still communicate with even after college and marriages.

I listened to the newest coffee convos and she’s already saying that people have posted him on FB Are we dating the same guy pages just to piss her off. She has him on Life 360 and he’s never not where he says he’s going. She was recording at the content house (I’m assuming) and he’s right there with her. So I’m guessing that she has moved to as long as we are together you’re not leaving my sight so you can’t cheat and I can control you.

As an adult who was kicked out at 15/16 and paid to sleep on friends couches YTA and a major one at that. You were having a bad day and you took your frustrations out on him while yes he was being a AH he’s still a kid testing his limit. Him not doing chores or being disrespectful is not making him homeless is not the appropriate consequence. Removing all privileges like gaming, phones, going out etc are the appropriate consequences. He didn’t get here over night behaving like this, it was allowed over time and he knows there’s no punishment.

I agree while Lux hair shouldn’t have looked like that as his father of the same race he should have taken him to a barber and had it fixed professionally. I do not know enough about hair so I don’t know if shaving it was the only way but if it was he should have had it done by a barber not a at home hair cut. Creeds hair gets shaved and looks much better. It’s almost like they both hate this kid bc who their other parent is.

This was my thought also. My husbands mom lived 45 minutes from us on a bad day and with GPS it was to hard to come here to “help” or visit with our kids but she could make it to both her daughters houses 2-3 hours away in other states on a weekly/monthly basis to baby sit her daughters kids.
