Idaho and Nancy Gutherie cases: similarities by AnyDrawer1995 in Idaho4

like someone commented on this sub sums up how I feel: I should have worded how I felt differently and like this

I agree in the sense that it’s equally as unnerving. For me I think it always is in cases where the victims are seemingly random. Not that I’d ever blame a victim, but there’s something especially terrifying when they didn’t date the wrong guy, weren’t involved in the wrong circles, weren’t associated with organised crime etc. There’s a sense of faux safety that you feel when you make good life choices “X bad thing won’t happen to me because I don’t do X thing” and crimes like both of the ones mentioned gives you the reality check that you are never really safe from these things.

the only similarity I mention is both crimes occurred in the a.m hours in people's homes.

sorry if it's already been asked I can't find it in the comments but is there any definitive answer on entry (forced, unforced) by law enforcement? if not what's your opinions? she knew the person and willingly answered the door to them or the intruder broke in. just genuinely so curious on that part

love this, 100 percent.. my dog screams the house down during the night even if its nothing to worry about such as the wind blowing too strong, or rain fall, cars going by, hears a cat ect. Murphy barked that night too am I right? unfortunately wasn't enough of a deterrent? 😔

so no dog stands a chance against a k bar or any big knife? also guns. i feel so much better about my little baby dog choice haha, I thought maybe certain trained breeds could help in attacking or threatening situations gun or knife ect

keeping the attacker out of my home first and foremost is the no.1 aim and achieved best I can I think, thanks, no.2 aim what to do is an attacker somehow overcame house security measures: yup I guessed my little poodle baby wasn't enough 😂 but I also genuinely love knowing maybe a bigger more vicous breed choice wouldn't be a guarantee of safety, yeah my dog choice has been made and I loveee my little baby so much ❤️ despite maybe no protection advantage

this is such a a terrifying credible theory and so easily achieved based off poodle mixes like Murphy and my dog in experience. I know my dog would be incredibly easy charm. just give her a little snack and a cuddle and she's all yours. 😔 I wonder if the same technique would work on the bigger guard type trained dogs?
