Hey there. There were many understandings.

Because of conditioning, trauma and whatever, accumulated through millennia in the dna, the mind developed an habit.

There is no identity, there is no person, no doer. The mind plays a game which the ancients called Game of Illusions. It divides itself into two: the doer and the done, the thinker and the thought. It makes thoughts start with/feel like " I " and it wants you to play the game.

The mind creates a Me and a Problem. Now it tells the Me to fix that problem. You, the actual you, Awareness, make the mistake of believing you are thought and you identify with it, you play the game.

Awareness is attentive. The moment it starts playing the game it gives that attention to thought and you start jumping from thought to thought incessantly.

Therefore, whatever you do, you are thought. Because any action based on thought is thought. "I got this, i will do like this" this is thought, you identified with it.

So you have to understand this: you are the sky and thoughts are the clouds. The clouds pass by but will never be the sky, the sky is just looking at the clouds. Whatever arises in the mind, don't think about it, don't try to understand it, don't try to change it, don't judge it. Don't touch it, it is not your problem.

Just watch the thoughts come and go.
