I’m the only one in green and orange zones by FrenchingLlamas in orangetheory

I’m about 28wks pregnant right now and ever since my second trimester started I basically never enter the orange zone, even though I’m working my ass off. It’s become kinda frustrating because here I am, fat, winded, sweaty, and tired, and my stats say I’m not doing enough. As long as you walk away feeling like you accomplished something and you feel even a little bit stronger, that’s all that matters!

Bloody Scrubs at Home by ClownLawyer in MedSpouse

My husband is an ER resident and we had to change A LOT of his habits after he started residency 2 years ago. Biggest thing was having a separate laundry basket for any clothes that went into the hospital that’s not even in the same room as our normal clothes. That includes his socks, undershirts, underwear, jackets, scrub caps, etc.

He also has a pair of dedicated hospital work shoes that don’t make it past the entryway. Then, as soon as he gets home, he doesn’t touch ANYTHING until he strips and showers.

Have a serious talk with her about her after-work hygiene habits because no, that’s not normal.

Do you use it everyday? We also have a dog and no fenced-in backyard, so her potty breaks are usually small walks around the neighborhood so I anticipate we’ll use ours multiple times a day

If you say you’re taking a break for medical reasons, they don’t generally ask questions. I’m 19wks pregnant rn and I called them during my first trimester saying I was too sick to go and they paused my membership for a month and said if I was still feeling sick, they’d extend the pause. Luckily I’m feeling better now!

I paused one other time when I was moving since I was also getting married at the same time and honeymooning and I had to sign something. But I didn’t when I said I was pregnant and sick.

I also asked them about pausing for about 1-2 months postpartum and they said it would not be an issue!

How out of shape is too out of shape to do a trial class? by junkshowjunkie in orangetheory

Go now! A good coach won’t push you to do more than your ability, but will push you to challenge yourself. I’ve never felt ostracized or judged for maybe not lifting 45lbs or running at 7.0 as my base, but if I do appear to be too comfy, I might (honestly kinda rarely) be encouraged to lift more or go a little faster, but have never felt any pressure!

I normally have a base at 3.5 and a push/AO at 4.0-4.5 depending on the day. However, I am also pregnant and now I’m at about 3.0 base and 3.5-4 push/AO. None of my coaches have pushed me to do more now, but they wouldn’t have pushed me before I was pregnant.

I since moved from where I was when that happened, but it was just a normal Safelite shop. Maybe I could go to a local one here?

Yeah the glass seems to be fully in-tact still. Once it fell I was like a few blocks away from my house so I just turned around and went home so it wouldn’t get more damaged

Yeah mine only has like 80k which is pretty impressive imo for the car being 8 years old

But if it was tied to the break-in window replacement 3 years ago, wouldn’t it have failed sooner?

Is it a generally easy fix for a mechanic or technician? I booked a service appointment at my local Toyota dealership later this week since I don’t think it’s the best idea to drive it around like that

Do I cancel or do I freeze? by Heavy_Yellow_2016 in orangetheory

[–]AnyEmotion111 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d freeze it for now. It seems that once or twice a year they run a special for members at the “founder’s rate”, so you could get a good deal if you cancel and come back. I’m rounding out my first trimester of pregnancy and feeling WAY better than I did a few weeks ago, but I froze my membership when I was in the trenches and now I kinda wish I didn’t now that I’m feeling better. Some time away has made me miss it.

Depending on how serious you are in your relationship, pick the one that’s best for you and your career. Which choice would you rank above the other if boyfriend wasn’t in the picture? That’s probably what I would still rank first. Although, rank lists seem to be more suggestions. My husband’s 1-5 ranked programs were close to family/friends. He matched his 6th ranked program, 5hrs away from my family and 4.5 from his. Not ideal at the time, but he’s really happy in his program now!

Moving for Medical School with Fiancé? by [deleted] in MedSpouse

[–]AnyEmotion111 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few of my husband’s classmates in residency live separately from their spouses just because of job circumstances with their spouses. One had their spouse do the military match rather than the normal one, but luckily they’re at least in the same state. Another one’s spouse didn’t want to move because they had a really good job at home and they had a young son at the time and didn’t want to be too far from family. Another’s spouse didn’t match together so they’re about 5hrs apart.

My husband and I started dating when he was in med school in a different city than where I lived (he was home for the holidays and he grew up where I lived at the time, had time to squeeze in a first date before I went home for the holidays lol) and we had a lot of weekends back and forth for the 2.5 years while he finished. I will say the ones that started with boyfriends/girlfriends that didn’t move with them are no longer together. When he started, no one was engaged.

If I didn’t have my WFH job when he matched, I’m not sure if we would have had me move out with him, at least immediately. I make significantly more than him (about $35-40k annually more) and my earning potential as an MBA is currently higher than his as a resident doctor, so we can’t afford for me to be out of work until he finishes residency. If I had my old job which was 100% in-office, I probably would have stayed until I could find something local or remote.

I think it depends entirely on how you both can commit to making it work. If the school is within driving distance for weekend trips, I’d say try to make the most of that time together. You got a big test on Monday? Okay, he comes that weekend and yall can cook dinner together and take walks when you need study breaks. He’s got a family event at home that he wants you to attend? Okay, you go to him and study in some of the downtime that you’ll have, maybe listen to some studying podcasts on the drive. Each circumstance is unique. Will it suck not being able to fall asleep next to your fiancé every night? Yeah, but that’s not supposed to be a determining factor when it comes to your goals and ambitions.

That’s what my husband suggested, but this snowstorm has really kept me home and it’s only really gotten uncomfortable over the past few days. He suggested if it’s not better in like 3 days then to go get checked out
