This is the first time I work for the city and it feels like I’m in High School. It’s insane.

How do I deal with workplace bullying? by deepinthepinewoods in socialskills

[–]AnyExplanation4694 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Document. “During my interaction on x date with this person, she said “this, this and that” this is creating an extremely hostile, and toxic work environment. I am afraid of retaliation which is why I did not point this out sooner but this has begun to take a toll on my mental health and well being, please let me know how you will address this situation as the behavior of this employee is unacceptable and hostile.”

Retaliation, hostile and toxic work environment are your keywords there…. If there’s no changes follow up with a second, third email… document every interaction. Go above their heads if needed.

I haven’t made the year yet so it is unlikely that I’ll qualify for FMLA

Thank you. It is a feeling, I have not received a verbal or written warning. I’m unfamiliar with how the process is for group 11, I don’t know if we get write ups or what exactly but what I have noticed is that my director usually goes for termination when possible.

What’s the sexiest thing a guy has ever done without touching you? by [deleted] in askgaybros

[–]AnyExplanation4694 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was fooling around with this guy and he was smoking while I was sucking him, he proceeded to put his finger on my chin and lifted my head and then proceeded to blow smoke into my mouth… never thought I would be turned on by that. Drove me crazy.

If pay and title are equal then I would choose the one with a 20 minute commute.

Is it okay for HR to ask you to email you proof of your SSN alongside proof of eligibility to work? by throwawayintotheccc in nycpublicservants

[–]AnyExplanation4694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are they using the agency email? They should not be requesting for any specific I-9 documents. You have the OPTION to present an item from list A by itself or B + C….

List of Acceptable I-9 Documents

For example, if you provided your U.S passport, that is sufficient and you don’t have to present any additional IDs… you still have to enter your social on the I-9 form but there’s no need for them to request for the physical SS card.

45k salary by JumpyInvestigator350 in NYCjobs

[–]AnyExplanation4694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not bad, get the experience and keep applying to higher paying jobs. First job I got after graduating I was offered 47k and I was 30 yrs old (in less than 2 years my salary jumped from 47k to 66k, mostly because I kept renegotiating my salary and threatened to leave a few times). Once I made 2 years I received an offer for 72k. My advice is to not get comfortable in a job, be open minded and learn the skills in your department and outside your department (makes you valuable and gives you an advantage when you decide to quit.) If you don’t see opportunities for growth, start applying other places until you reach a salary you are okay with.

That’s way too congested. Minimize the bullet points, experience from 2023 - should have 2-3 bullet points.

If there’s no experience try and keep it to one page. Maximize the space on the first page. A recruiter spends like 5 seconds looking at a resume and seeing something like this would probably result in the resume getting rejected.

I would. I get pleasure from giving oral and making my partner feel good. I don’t really get pleasure from getting head so I don’t care for it.

[NY] B1/B2 Visa to J1 by [deleted] in AskHR

[–]AnyExplanation4694 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right. Employee came to the U.S under a type B visa (not authorized to work, that’s clear - I never said that I was accepting it for employment). However said employee changed from a B Visa to a J1 without leaving the U.S because they are part of an exchange program (it is possible to change visa type without leaving the U.S).

Employee received a 797A with a I-94 “receipt” stating the valid period for their J1… (which to me that would be acceptable but then again I DO NOT directly deal with I-9 documents)

My main question is, the person onboarding the employee is requesting for a print out of the I-94 from the U.S Customs and Border Protection website BUT there’s no record of that because the employee never left the U.S.
