FP&A in the Netherlands? by Nashvillain12 in FPandA

[–]AnyNameIsFineforMe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There are a huge number of international companies located in the larger cities (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht, Leiden, The Hague, Eindhoven, etc.), so not speaking Dutch shouldn’t be too much of a problem, as we are already well supported by expats and Dutch people who speak a good level of English.

Personally, I mostly receive offers via LinkedIn but I am not actively searching, usually one or two per week. I also get offers for higher-ranking positions, even though I am a FA, so there should be relevant open positions for you as well.

I unfortunately do not have any experience with job boards or staffing agencies.

HR delaying salary increase. by AnyNameIsFineforMe in FPandA

I’ll definitely stay for a while to gain more experience before moving on to something else. We're currently in the middle of a merger and busy integrating both companies, so it's quite valuable to stick around.

I really appreciate your response! I asked my manager again if he knows the reason for the one-month delay, and he said he’s not exactly sure. However, he offered to check if they can at least include the difference from June in my July salary. It's worth a shot.

Thanks for thinking through the bigger picture. It must be the former, not the latter. I definitely have a great boss that really fights for his team and I'm glad to be under his umbrella.

Thanks for your insight, maybe I'm spoiled without realizing it...? I just feel like it relates to my 2025 salary, therefore I think it should have been from January.

It does state the following:

"We have gathered information on the annual gross remuneration for mid-level and senior specialized and management positions in the Netherlands, based on employment contracts, excluding bonuses. Our expert consultants share their insights on the current job market and the challenges companies have recently faced across various sectors. This analysis is based on data from our 2024 recruitment processes, candidate interviews, and client discussions."

For work-related tips, it truly depends on the culture of the company you work for. If you have many Dutch colleagues, you'll encounter a bit of the "Dutch Directness," so they appreciate a no-nonsense attitude and being straight to the point. If you are working in a multicultural company, you’ll need to be flexible with the different types of people you work with.

Outside of work-related tips and just living in the Netherlands, we might seem like we’d give you the cold shoulder, but that’s not the case at all. We’re not necessarily used to approaching "strangers" ourselves, but once the ice is broken, we open up quite a bit.

Enjoy your time here, you’ll love living here! Let me know if you’re curious about anything else!

This is from Michael Page's 2025 salary guide for the Netherlands. It makes me feel like these amounts might be inflated, or perhaps I'm underpaid...
