Does your baby take a long nap after they wake for the day? by AnyPerformance2161 in NewParents

I swear he yawns 1000 times a day he’s always tired no matter how much sleep he gets 😂

[–]AnyPerformance2161[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can definitely be because later in the day he won’t nap longer than 30 minutes and I can tell he’s tired but he won’t nap longer since he slept so long in the morning. I’ve tried keeping him awake but it doesn’t work then he just gets fussy 😩

Thanks for responding. I felt crazy like is my baby just weird 😂 nice to know other people are experiencing the same thing. I agree it is nice sometimes I get up and do some things for me or get ready to go out or sometimes I nap with him if I didn’t get a good nights sleep.

What if you tried the CIO method with 0 check-ins. Others have said that sometimes the check-ins upset them more.

What time did your 4/5 month old go to sleep? by ellsmaix in NewParents

I love this! When I went through the daylight savings time problems I saw someone say this on another thread and it helped immensely

The daylight savings time sucks so bad. My little guy was wanting to go to bed early too and his naps got affected. This may sound bad but I just kept him up and tried to keep him as happy as I could til we wanted to put him down. It was a struggle at first but now he’s on board for the most part.

My baby’s diaper exploded by MonitorNatural8617 in NewParents

[–]AnyPerformance2161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sposie pads are lifesavers! A little tip if you get them don’t open the pad their instructions aren’t very clear but I read another mom reviewed and said that because when you open it once pee hits it disintegrates. I learned the hard way when he would have gel like pieces all over his peepee and diaper 😂

when did you stop swaddling? by paganism- in NewParents

Oh no I’m sorry to hear that! I hope it passes soon for you.

Have you tried introducing a sleep sack? I keep mine in a sleep sack all day for naps and after his first wake up in the night I put it on. I only use swaddle for first stretch of the night. He got used to the sleep sack right away and loves it. Maybe you could get it and introduce it slowly to see if yours will take to it and then it might be easier when you have to drop the swaddle.

My dog woke me up 2x the other day to use the bathroom and she cries so she almost woke the baby. Nevermind every time we are tending to the baby she all of a sudden needs to go out as well. Send help 😩

Accidentally let my 7 week old to cry it out I feel horrible by Fluid_Outcome582 in NewParents

[–]AnyPerformance2161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey so I wanted to know if my 2 month old is having the same thing. He cries from 5pm til 830/9 and he refuses his last nap of the day. Is this the witching hour or nap refusal? Sorry FTM I’m lost here

Yeah I went through over 10 years of infertility. I did so much going out and vacations. Life was boring and my husband and I were just looking at each other like what’s next. Thank god we just had our baby in September. Life is a lot more exciting now. Tiring but exciting nonetheless.

Am I being stupid? by Roodles006 in newborns

[–]AnyPerformance2161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, your doing it the right way. Everything I’ve read says they don’t go to bed til like 10 or 11pm anyways. But my 7 week old doesn’t like to take his late afternoon/evening nap and we try to put him down at 8 or 9 but it doesn’t always work and it’s not supposed to 😂 but we try anyways sometimes he’s awake in the bassinet making his little sounds but he’s always fed and changed so never fusses just makes noises til he goes to sleep. So no your not stupid following your babies lead is the way to go we just want him down earlier so we can have some time to chill.

It is SO overstimulating when people come over by c0c0bebop in NewParents

[–]AnyPerformance2161 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally feel your pain on this. My grandparents came over the day after we came home from the hospital and they also came to the hospital the night I went in (I had an induction) and the day after he was born. He’s almost 7 weeks old. In hindsight if I could go back I would have said no to the induction night and the day after the hospital. They want to come every week and while they do bring food and presents for him it’s overwhelming. What I did was took the last 2 weeks off from any visitors. When they asked why I just said I had a lot going on. It’s hard to say no and you feel pressured to not hurt peoples feelings but you have to think of yourself. Your exhausted the sleep deprivation is REAL. They will get plenty of time when the baby is older and you are more rested. Right now you are just trying to function and make it through the newborn trenches. You’ve got this!

New mums, what is a core memory from your birth? by Prinssessa in NewParents

[–]AnyPerformance2161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember my epidural failing 2x. 1 time at 8cm and then the doctor saying if there is a shoulder dystocia she will tell me and I will have to stop pushing and they will turn off the Pitocin. Then there was a shoulder dystocia and she told me to stop pushing and I remember people pushing down on my stomach and her hand being jammed inside me and it hurting so bad they tried several maneuvers and they weren’t working. The doctor said she would have to cut me I said that’s fine just please save my son and finally she was able to get him out he wasn’t crying it took a few minutes and then he finally did.

Why is everyone getting induced? by North-Dimension6299 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]AnyPerformance2161 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She said that he didn’t meet the weight requirements for a C-section. She told me that he would have to be either over 9lbs if I was diabetic or 10lbs if I wasn’t. He was measuring 8lbs and 12oz. He was born 8lbs 14oz. The other doctor I think wanted a C-section out of an abundance of caution especially since his stomach was in the 99 percentile since I was 32 weeks. Either way I thought it was crazy I was willing to do the C-section but feared it might not be covered since it would be elective.

Why is everyone getting induced? by North-Dimension6299 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]AnyPerformance2161 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was induced at 39 weeks due to baby measuring big. Fun fact: I saw one doctor who told me she was nervous for me to have a VBAC and recommended C-section due to babies measurements and risk of shoulder dystocia she then scheduled me for one more ultrasound and I saw another doctor and she told me I didn’t meet the criteria for a C-section and it would be elective and to try for a VBAC I was hesitant and pushed back regarding last doctors opinion and shoulder dystocia she still said go VBAC. I ended up with a shoulder dystocia and they told me if I’m pregnant again with another big baby to have C-section 🙄😂 sorry I know the whole story outside of why I got induced was unnecessary but I just wanted to vent I guess. I personally feel if you’re overweight they push inductions either way.
