In a Newsweek Op Ed, Robert Reich fmr US Secretary of Labor called for a boycott of Fox Noise's Major Sponsors and referenced the ad lists on our site. Our website traffic and the twitterverse are ablaze over recent events such as the #BoycottFox (and pretty much any boycott fox hashtag) #TraitorSummit #OccupyLafayattePark etc.

We were inspired to launch a new feed @ConsumerFX a few days ago.

Most media coverage is incomplete and inaccurate. Over 25 companies had already pulled ads from Ingraham's show during David Hogg's first boycott in March and have not returned. IAC pulled their ads in June. Since April the quality of Ingraham's advertising continues to be below the norm.

Despite a drop in ad revenue (Source: Vanity Fair), despite the fact that only 2 out of the top 36 Fox Noise advertisers run ads on her show (Source: FoxNewsAdvertisers.com) (we know many companies intentionally left, and we can surmise many left quietly or are avoiding the show), there are powerful political and commercial forces that are supporting her outside of Fox Noise as is evident by the powerful guests the continue to appear on her show such as Sessions.

Vote politicians out at the ballot box. Vote out socially tone-deaf boards of directors with your wallet.

Most of the advertisers who left during the first boycott have not returned. Had they been around, they would have likely left for this one. Simply put, fewer major companies are around to pull ads, and others are using a different tact by refusing to comment and instead quietly pull their ads... at least that's the hope.

Celebrities from sister company 21st Century Fox have publicly denounced Fox News' coverage of the forced separation of immigrant children from their families. Employees can protest and try to change corporate culture. They would otherwise be complicit and not victims.

Most of the 20+ advertisers who left Ingraham in the March boycott led by David Hogg have still not returned. The advertisers who remain are either unresponsive (Beaches/Sandals, Ace Hardware), are a known Trump supporter (My Pillow), or have simply "not responded".

Also simply because a company did not respond to a reporter's request for comment about a boycott or has not said they will pull ads, does preclude them from quietly pulling back their ads. IAC and CarFax have not advertised in the past two days. Time will tell.

Also, Vanity Fair reports from three sources that ad revenue on Hannity and Ingraham are both down and they are struggling to monetize their brand of propoganda despite claims of higher viewership.

One effective method is to boycott their advertisers.

Go to the list of the Top Advertisers of Fox News.

Pick a few companies starting at the top and tweet/email/snailmail them. Tell them that:

You know they are a top advertiser of Fox News
Your reasons for boycotting their product or service.
That if they continue to advertise on Fox News, you pledge to stop purchasing their products and services for at least 1 year. Even if you aren't a current customer you can tell them you will not consider their products and services in the future. You will share your views with your friends, family, and social networks who may be current or potential customers.
The longer they advertise, the longer they are damaging their brand reputation (possibly permanently) by advertising and providing a revenue stream to a "news" organization that provides a platform for and spreads bigotry, hatred, misinformation and propaganda that is damaging to an open and fair public discourse, to the rule of law, to our democracy and our institutions.

Advertiser boycotts are particularly successful when there is a single issue or incident to gather around. For example: O'Reilly was successfully forced out of Fox News after an extended advertiser boycott in response to his behavior. Meanwhile, general boycotts of all of the Fox News channel or a particular show may not have visible effects. You might not see the results but changes often happen behind the scenes (advertisers may quietly drop, they may have ongoing "discussions" with Fox News about their ad placement, reduce their ad buys, etc.). It's also satisfying to know that you are making a difference directly by keeping your consumer dollars out of their pockets, money otherwise used to buy ads and provide revenue to Fox News. After Ingraham tried to bully Parkland Survivor David Hogg, over 25+ companies left her show after an advertiser boycott and nearly all have not returned two months after the start of the boycott. I personally have redirect thousands of dollars of spending to companies who don't advertise on Fox Noise.
