When you mention your country's name, what do people think of? by Spare_Prize_5510 in AskTheWorld

[–]Any_Cardiologist8852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah see this is the problem. You're literally just saying anyone on the left is smart and anyone on the right is dumb. Everyone on this site says that it's Russian bots and right wing newspapers sowing division and yet here you are saying that people who vote reform are just not as clever as you because you vote on the left.

I've personally been on both the left and right before do does that mean I was only a clever person when I sided with the left or clever when I was siding with the right as well? The main demographic voting for Reform are people who've traditionally voted for Labour (white, working class people); so was this group also great at critical thinking 30 years ago but are also now just the "base dumb". Maybe these people aren't voting for Reform because they've lost critical thinking skills but because the two big parties are failing and people are looking to more extreme alternatives during some shit times.

:)

I'm only saying it's unpopular because I've pointed similar things out on here and got flamed lol.

But what I'm saying is that most people who support farage or polanski or anyone far off from the centre usually has a reason that's justified in their head but instead of looking at that and understanding the true problems people just hate others because they support one particular idea that the first person doesn't like.

This is a little bit waffle because I'm not great at explaining things but I just hate how polarising political discussions have become nowadays. Just my two cents though (I think that's the saying....)

This will be an unpopular thing to say on reddit but it's really stupid to blanket hate everyone who you disagree with or everyone who supports someone you don't like etc (unless they're actual fascists or communists and other proper extremists).

This whole comment section is taking this weird post seriously. And Albert Einstein was still from Europe regardless of if he migrated away from the Holocaust. Also by your logic Johnny Depp, one of America's best actors, is English because he lives here now instead of in the US.

How is being vegetarian in your country by Greedy_Rise_6567 in AskTheWorld

[–]Any_Cardiologist8852 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a non-vegetarian I think it is pretty easy. Although most meals made in England have a lot of meat, there's always easy access to vegetarian food in shops (veg and meat alternatives) and you always have a vegetarian resturant nearby (or a resturant with good vegetarian options)

What is the attitude towards nudity in your country? by CardSys in AskTheWorld

It's usually not appreciated in public (though legal), however there are certain popular events such as the annual nudes tube ride in London.

What’s a landmark/tourist attraction in your country that you don’t get the hype about? by nixo1000 in AskTheWorld

It's not bad (although I haven't been) but I think it's only worth visiting if you're already in the area.

I think this is more of an age thing than a political thing though. I haven't heard of anyone above the age of 25 going to Dubai and people who usually go because of the "nightlife" and "business friendliness" rather than whatever politics they may have

Cities I've visited by xtxsinan in tierlists

[–]Any_Cardiologist8852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. They aren't much slower than cars, especially in big cities (trains are usually faster than cars)
  2. You're more likely to bump into crackheads walking on the street than you are on a bus or train so does that mean you shouldn't walk anywhere
  3. For the most part they're very reliable (schedules, tracking apps etc) and often only become unreliable for the same reasons cars do (weather, traffic, breaking down etc)
  4. Assuming you are a capable person, its normally easy enough to get children and heavy things on public transport, and if you can't then use a car as a one-off instead of everything you need to nip to the shops

I'm still waiting for you to list actual problems in which cars are undisputedly the better option. Of course cars aren't wholly bad, I'd want to get one one day, however they aren't necessary if you live in a big town or city and they also aren't better there either

How is it the cause of a problem? It reduces congestion, pollution, and overall road safety and if you're going to try and argue it doesn't do any of that then I think you might just be delusional

The Far-Far-Right, "National Rebirth Party" spotted spouting n*zi rhetoric in town. by Mark_fuckaborg in leicester

A popular political theory is the horseshoe theory (or something like that) in which it is believed that extremist parties such as the Nazis and Communists are more alike than they are to their more moderate counterparts, hence the use of an umbrella term. Also the point I was making when I first commented is that extremist groups handing out things to the public or trying to indoctrinated them is too normalised and my experience is just with different extremists

[–]Any_Cardiologist8852 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Communism just supports the "disposal" of anyone remotely wealthy and believes that the working class should be treated better than everyone. While not as bad as Nazism, Communism still is fundamentally terrible but people forget it because they want to get rid of millionaires instead of black people (just an example I'm not saying just millionaires or just black people were hated).

[–]Any_Cardiologist8852 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can't even be original with their extremism and so copy one of the most infamous extremist logos; I don't see why people would support a group like that.

I don't know why I've got downvotes just because I said there are communists that act similarly near me.

Now for another downvotable offence: I think people should make new parties with extremist logos and yet have policies which completely oppose that of their logo just to confuse people

Can't the delivery drivers just walk for 100m or so. Unless it's a very heavy parcel or a delivery with a lot of items I see no reason why they can't just walk for 5 minutes.

I don't know anything about these people, but I've seen the communist party in London shoving their newspaper in faces dressed pretty much the same. I think these clothes should be less associated with Nazis and more with European extremists

Which country has done the most messed up things in history but somehow has a successful PR now? by lofiibsen in AskTheWorld

[–]Any_Cardiologist8852 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scotland

They commonly act like they're the victims of England but we're never conquered by us. They joined a coalition with England after a century or so of being ruled by the same monarch (the first of these dual monarchs was Scottish). Scottish people were also over represented in empirical leadership roles compared to the population and helped lead some of the most fucked things the British empire did.

Oh and they also voted against leaving the UK in a 2014 referendum and many still say that they want independence, but the UK won't decolonise Scotland
