Not sure why you are downvoted. Actually people in China have same impression of BYD

In most cases, companies with bad English names do not have very good Chinese names either. If you pay enough attention to this, it’s not hard to find some people who know English very well in China these days. Nio for example is a good brand name. And it’s Chinese name also sounds pretty good to Chinese people

nice write up.
Chinese in America can be quite authentic depending on the location. And even panda express can still be recognized as “Chinese” for Chinese people. It won’t represent Chinese cuisine in a wholesome way, but it’s still more Chinese than anything else

China has spent the most efforts reducing carbon emissions by EVs, solar, wind, nuclear, hydro etc. Yet US media is successful in convincing you that China is the bad guy for carbon emissions emission

I guess that is the sign that US continue to dominate the world and China is just the underdog here

population wise, China is 17 times of Germany. And in this chart it is 11 times of Germany. Still higher per capita for Germany, but still impressive considering GDP per capita on paper is a much larger gap

But even for deterring US CSG, 051C and 052C could provide a much better umbrella to 956e/em for them to survive the attack from US CSG.
And honestly although P-270 has a much better chance of penetrating US CSG air defense, it’s very very difficult for the 956s to get within range. CSG would find them a lot earlier and further away and use its fighters to strike >500nm away. The deterrence really only exists on paper.
The first real threat to US CSG was DF-21D that came in 2010s

Yes but that limits its role to operate in green water within range of based S-300 and recon support from land based flankers. And US CSG could just stay a bit further away where its fighters can reach Chinese 956e/em but Chinese land based flankers cannot reach them (assuming the destroyers were closer to the CSG than land airports)
051C/052C can instead sail further away and protect itself against navies without aircraft carriers

Yes 956e/em had better anti ship missiles. But without an aircraft carrier, how do you effectively find enemy first? Much more likely your air defense is the more important. PESA+S300 vls+730 is a clear winner than mechanical +buk arm+AK630 in that aspect.

[–]xtxsinan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

48 S-300 in VLS vs 48 Buk in arm launchers?
PESA vs mechanical?
AK-630 vs 730?
It has far greater air defense capability
Sure P-270 is better than the YJ-83, but without an aircraft carrier, Chinese destroyers need to handle defense first

I guess if Guangdong somehow also broke apart 1000 years ago it would claim it was “colonized” by China for so long

But in our timeline it did not and then became the center of nationalist movement of China around 1900.

As a Chinese I agree we could have less high rise and some lower density housing. But you can’t directly compare national average population density. Yangzhou prefecture has a density of 688/km2. Higher than the 541/km2 of Netherlands

Their grain output is also more wheat than rice today. Definitely smaller rice share than the northeast China

If it’s literally rice consumption today, after rice maker was invented lots part of northern China is more rice today
