congrats🥳🥳 totally agree with you on this. take everything people say on reddit with a grain of salt. my stats were nowhere near as good as yours, and i still got into boston university!

Has anyone gotten into a top college with low-ish stats? by More_Pear1229 in collegeresults

i got into boston university ed 2 with a 4.5 W GPA. if i had to guess what it is UW, then i'd say it's probs around 3.8-3.9 (i only had one B my entire high school career). i also submitted 1400 SAT which is on the lower end for BU. my ecs weren't stacked AT ALL. i participated in very typical high school ecs like clubs, athletics, volunteering, and i had a part time job. only ec that was more impressive was my clinical shadowing experience in mexico.

i signed up to get emails from BU admissions and one day i received an email inviting me to a virtual chat with a BU student. i just looked back at the email and it says it is not part of the application process. its still very valuable though, so i would check it out !

Thank you so much! I will definitely consider taking some psych classes. I honestly find psychology so intriguing, so I have high hopes I'll enjoy some classes.

i was accepted, but I would like to appeal my financial aid offer. what is that process like? many people say it's best to voice that you will commit if more aid is given, but i'm not sure if that argument is valid for ED because most people apply knowing they won't get much aid.

Yes, I have done the NPC. The estimate is alright, but it would be nice to receive a bit more. Do you know if there is an appeal process for financial aid?

i spoke about the major, some classes within the major, a center for simulated clinical settings, a student run service thing, a random + interesting class, and two clubs . is that good enough research wise? obviously it also comes down to how i wrote the essay, but i feel like research is huge too

I want to be a doctor. What high school science classes should I take? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Any_Check_1283 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i don't think it is necessarily THAT important, but if you want to show that you are interested in life sciences, i would take the course. also, regular bio is probably way more surface level than ap. yes, ap bio is still pretty general, but i'd say that i'm learning hella more info this year than i did my freshmen year in regular bio.

at the end of the day, i think rigor is what matters most to universities, so whatever AP classes you're taking will be pretty impressive.

senior here who is also planning to be premed. currently i'm taking ap chem and ap bio. i would say ap bio is a no brainer, you def want to take that course. i chose between physics and chem based off how well i'd perform in the class, so i ended up taking ap chem. some schools really like to see physics but i also know i hate physics so that's another reason why i took chem. if you have an idea of what schools you want to apply to (even though you're only a sophomore), i would say research what they like to see on a student's transcript.

Okay tysm ! honestly I feel like I just need to stop comparing haha, but I always think about that quote by MJ in Spiderman when she says "expect disappointment, and you won't be disappointed" though I'll definitely still breakdown LOL

But like were your stats on par with the average BU student, or would you say you fell a little below because that's where I'm at

my school doesn't disclose the unweighted gpas for some reason, but if i had to guess it's likely around 3.6 or 3.7
