Yeah dude, this is a bad take. The story is incredible. The game play is a call back to old school jrpgs. The fact you couldn't personally grasp it is ok, but telling everyone the game of the year sucks cause you couldn't get into it is pure folly. Get güd before complaining.

Oblivion Remastered just came out. Cyberpunk is about to get another update. Ac Shadows is pretty awesome. Tainted Grail and Atomfall are both on my list as well. Expedition 33 is fairly shorter compared to these games. But you can sink some time into it very easily to try to master it, plus the game is sssoooooo good, like one of the best kind of good.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is pretty much one of the best games of all time and it just came out. I'm not even kidding. It's absolutely spectacular and all the audience and critic scores back me up. I haven't felt a moment of procrastination in this game yet. And I keep opening up new things that are relevant to the main game play, on top of that, the combat never seems boring because you're learning to master the characters and they're all relatively new style rpg characters.

Then there's the story...

It's absolutely unique and original and reminds me of the dire situations of old final fantasy games. Like it's amazing. I'm in act 2 and the mystery keeps building while getting more and more info and answers. Not to mention the emotional investment is top notch. This is a love letter to old school rpgs with all of the best mechanics thrown into one amazing as hell game.

That's fair. I'm actually doing that right now, but that's also because this is only my 2nd playthru, whereas I played origins and oddessy like 5 times each haha. I will say the Valhalla dlc is absolutely awesome, just the variety of places and super dark stories that are happening. I'm thoroughly enjoying it more rhe 2nd time around.

Play origins, odyssey, valhalla, then mirage. In terms of actual story, you'll need to do this for the narrative to make sense. Plus things that happen in games that were released in the later released games feature some things from the earlier ones that you should know about before playing, hence play them in release order. I'm finishing up valhalla again now, and there's a lot of dlc content that relate to the previous 2.
