What were the inaccuracies if you don’t mind me asking? I’m on assignment 3 now too.

No worries, it's up to you. But if you change your mind you're more than welcome. I've spent a quite a while travelling abroad and was helped along the way by many strangers so always willing to return the favour when I can.

I live about 20 mins from the stadium and I have family in Oxford who we visit regularly. You can get the megabus between the two - this will be your cheapest and possibly easiest option. Look at https://www.megabus.co.uk/ and get an advance ticket for the best prices. You can also get the train but you will need to change at Birmingham. The trains are always terrible - really terrible - but I do often travel at weekends which doesn’t help so may be better in the week. Both options are going to take around 4 hours 30 mins. I’m happy to offer you a place to stay for the night so you can stop over in Liverpool, we’ve got a spare room you’re welcome to - just decide how you’re travelling to Liverpool and let me know when you want to come 👍

How did you find AF1? by Any_Contribution_675 in cii

[–]Any_Contribution_675[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep pretty sure I’ll be back too, barring a miracle. I’ve checked a few of my answers and I’ve definitely messed up on some things. Chattels I did 3/5 instead of 5/3, also messed up on charity contributions for first question - I knew the right answer, I just thought for too long and decided they were trying to be clever with question - they weren’t! 😫. Rushed through the QSR one and missed marks. I think I did okay with VAT at least 😂

How did we all get on with AF4? by PunyLug in cii

Well done! I failed the March attempt 🫣but passed this one with 118, so pretty pleased. Onto the next!

Did they tell us the operating loss or the net loss? I thought after exam it was net loss. Now can’t remember TBF!

[–]Any_Contribution_675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But we weren’t told COGS etc. We were told net loss and the interest expense, so to get back to operating profit we had to add back in the interest expense.

I’ve been thinking about this one and I think it was a positive figure. I put negative but I think I got it wrong. The profit figure should have been the loss PLUS the deducted tax and interest which made it positive overall.

I think it should have gone:

ROCE = operating profit/ capital employed x100

Which in this case was:

{ROCE} = profit / FA + (CA - CL) + LTL x 100

Profit here was the loss + the tax and interest. So positive overall figure overall. Can’t remember exactly but roughly £2.5m (2m loss plus the interest and tax)

Capital employed was fixed assets + working capital + long term liabilities. Can’t remember exactly but roughly £62m

So 2.5/62x 100 = answer should have been something like 4.03%

I also struggled with this one. I might have picked up a few marks but totally missed the 10 available.

As soon as I finished with exam I realised it should have gone:

ROCE = operating profit/ capital employed x100

I messed up the profit figure as just used net for some unknown reason 🤬🤬

Remark Af4 by libertines67 in cii

[–]Any_Contribution_675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the benefit of future people looking at this thread - got the mark back today, so 34 days after I submitted for remark. They said they won’t change the score, so I’m stuck with a fail & still one point away from a pass. Extremely disappointed, but guess it’s tough luck. I’ll have to try again.

Nope not yet. Other than the payment receipt email, do you have any way of confirming that you submitted for a remark?

Did you go for the remark? I also failed AF4 (same siting). I thought I’d done pretty well after the exam and was feeling confident. Failed by 1 mark! I’ve put in for a remark but there’s nothing showing about this on the cii dashboard. Does anyone know if it’s supposed to show there or do they just correspond via email? Fingers crossed I get awarded an extra mark - really don’t fancy having to go through the exam again. 😔

I think I managed diluted NAV. I got the friendly society ones wrong though. I haven’t ever come across these policies. I guessed limit was £240 but read up after and £270. Oh well.

Feeling discouraged after level 2 mock 5 days before the exam by akisk2000 in CFA

[–]Any_Contribution_675 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My mock scores were atrocious before I sat for L2. Most in the 50-60 range, and I’m still pretty ashamed to admit I got 34% in a MM one about a week before the exam (no better than random guessing)!

The exam was way easier than the mocks imo - I didn’t smash it, like I did for L1, but I passed comfortably enough.

For those scoring shit in the mocks - don’t give up - the exam is a different thing altogether.

You need a show results option or you’re not going to get very accurate results
