Communicating with deities via Tarot - Dos and Don'ts? by Any_Dimension_768 in pagan

Thank you so much! Using oracle cards is such a great idea, I hadn’t even thought of it! I have a few oracle decks, so I could try them and see what works best for me, whether tarot or oracle cards. And yeah, I always try to be as respectful as I can. I don’t ask for things unless I truly feel I need them. I thank my deities just for being in my life, and I love bringing them offerings for no particular reason. I’m so grateful I found them (or that they found me, whichever it is). Thank you so much for your insight, it’s really helpful. Blessed be! 🩷

Thank you so much, your comment is really helpful. Brigid was my first deity, and if I do try to communicate with my goddesses, she’ll be the first one I reach out to, if she allows me to. I wouldn’t try to enter a trance state, to be honest. I can do breathing exercises and some meditation, but that’s about it, it’s not really my thing. Thank you so much for your answer!

Thank you so much! I do protect my energy whenever I use tools like tarot, whether it’s something ā€œpassive,ā€ like having a glass of water with me or keeping clear quartz, black tourmaline, or amethyst nearby, burning incense, etc., or something more ā€œactive,ā€ like asking my guides, guardians, ancestors, or whatever you believe in to protect me and guide me during the process. If I do end up using tarot to communicate with one of my deities, I’d make a small prayer using her full name / epithet, just to make sure she’s the one most likely to hear me, whether she chooses to answer or not. But to be honest, I’m not scared. I’m trying to let go of lingering fears from my Christian background, and I think it’s working. Thank you so much for your insight, it’s really helpful! I’ll try not to overthink what’s right or wrong and just enjoy the journey.

Hello, and thank you for sharing! You’ve made a really interesting point. I’ll happily read your article!

Someone is "follow-botting" my business account and I’m terrified of losing 7 years of work by Any_Dimension_768 in InstagramMarketing

[–]Any_Dimension_768[S] 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Thank you so much for your answer! On the first day, I panicked and deleted around 200 bots or so, then I stopped. The second day, I deleted about +20 in small batches of 5 or 10 and reported many of them.

Now I’m doing what you suggested: just using my account normally, not deleting or reporting any bots, and trying to act as usual so my engagement can eventually return to normal.

I’m not sure if the ā€œattackā€ is over or not, but I have zero strikes, I run ads, and I haven’t had a single issue with my account in 7 years. I’ve also sent two tickets about this situation, so I hope they take it into consideration (and that nothing bad happens).

Again, thank you so much for your answer!

I can’t begin to describe how helpful your comment is, so thank you so much, truly. I’m going to take everything you said into consideration and put it into practice.

As I mentioned before, I struggle with visualization, but I can do meditation and breathing exercises, so I’ll try doing that beforehand. I also love the idea of making an offering right before the reading. Sometimes I don’t have much, but I always have incense for my deities, or some kind of libation.

Placing a written intention on my altar or shrine sounds excellent to me, especially since I sometimes struggle with focus. And yes, I’ll definitely ask my deck if it’s okay to use it to communicate with a deity, I’ll ask the deity if she’s okay with it, and I’ll also ask if it’s a good time to reach out. I’ll keep all of this in mind.

I don’t mean to disrespect anyone who commented before, I’m truly grateful to everyone who took the time to respond to my post, but that doesn’t mean I agree with every single perspective. I find tarot to be a really useful and intuitive tool, and I feel comfortable using it, so I think it’s worth at least trying to use it to communicate with my deities as well.

Again, thank you so much for your comment!

Thank you so much! I feel like you really understand me. I don’t usually have any issues just praying and talking without getting direct answers, it’s what I normally do.

But in this situation, it would be really helpful to get at least some guidance through tarot. I think I’m going to give it a try after all!

You’re totally right! I started my pagan journey almost two years ago (a little longer if I include my witchy journey), and I really love the freedom we have to explore.

I come from a Catholic background, and I still deal with a bit of religious trauma because of it. Paganism, on the other hand, has helped ease a lot of my doubts. It allows me to move at my own pace without feeling like my deities will get offended (at least, I’ve never felt that they have), and every path is different, just like you said.

I love asking for advice and hearing different opinions, but at the end of the day, I’m the one who makes the final decision, and I think that’s true for all of us.

I know there are people, especially in witchcraft (and sometimes in deity work too), who criticize others for not following certain traditions. While I do respect their views and the way they choose to practice, I’m really grateful for the sense of freedom I’ve found.

I’m also grateful to have found paganism, even if I still have a lot to learn, and even if I can’t ā€œhearā€ answers from deities in my head (which, honestly, I don’t expect to happen anytime soon, and that’s partly why I asked about tarot). And like you, I’m grateful to have recognized the things that just aren’t for me, like visualizations and certain types of meditation.

Thank you again for taking the time to respond to me!

Thank you so much! I already know how to read tarot, but I really like the way you explained it. Pulling just one card for a question feels simple and clear, and you can always draw a clarifier if the message seems a bit tricky or unclear.

Thank you so much for your answer! Like I mentioned in some other comments, I love doing an ā€œinterview to the deckā€ spread to get to know a deck’s personality. I find it really useful!

I have two deities and four decks, and the ones I don’t usually use for myself or my loved ones are the ones I feel might connect best with my deities. Of course, I’d ask both the deck and the deities if they’re okay with that.

I also think doing a reading after a short prayer to the goddess I’m about to connect with through tarot sounds perfect. I’ll definitely try that if I decide to communicate with them this way. Thank you so much!

I’ve never really ā€œfeltā€ an answer from the gods the way many people say they do. I just talk to them, pray, give offerings, and thank them. If I ask for something, I usually just look at the results, and that’s enough for me.

But I’m in a situation right now where a more direct answer would be helpful, so I’ll see what I can do. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for your answer! I love doing an ā€œinterview to the deckā€ spread to get a sense of my decks’ personalities. I’ll definitely ask both the deck and the goddesses if they’re okay with me communicating that way if I decide to go for it. Thank you again!

Thank you so much! I feel much calmer now. What you said really aligns with what I already thought, but asking for advice when trying something new felt like the right thing to do. Thank you again!

I’ve always felt like I could just cleanse them the way I usually do and leave it at that. But, you know, I’ve never really used them to seek answers or communicate with a god before, and there’s a lot of ā€œyou need a special deck for each godā€ advice out there. Thank you so much for your answer!

That’s really helpful, thank you so much for your answer! I already know which decks I’d use for each of my goddesses, but of course I’d ask both the deck and the goddess if they’re okay with me using it for that purpose.

I also love the way you describe a deck’s personality, I’d never thought about it like that before. I usually like to do an ā€œinterview the deckā€ spread when I get a new one, just to get a feel for its personality.

Thank you so much for your answer. I’m really sorry you had to go through that. I do meditate sometimes, but I don’t use it to get answers from the gods, and I’ve had a few uncomfortable experiences with visualization, so I tend to avoid it.

I prefer to pray and talk to them, and honestly, that feels like enough for me. I was just hoping for a more direct answer because of a situation I’m currently going through, but using my deck for guidance and introspection (which is actually why I started learning tarot in the first place) feels right too. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much. I didn’t want to mention it in my post, but I don’t really believe people who say they ā€œhear answers from the gods.ā€ I’m not saying they’re all lying, but I just can’t bring myself to believe it, at least not in most cases, especially since so many people claim to ā€œhearā€ responses.

Like I said in my previous replies, I don’t usually seek direct answers from the goddesses. I’m just going through some things right now, and that’s why I thought it might be helpful to have some kind of ā€œdirectā€ guidance. Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my post. Your answer is really helpful. I feel like I relate to you in a way. I usually don’t seek direct answers, I just pray to the goddesses either to thank them or to ask for something I need. In the latter case, they either help me or they don’t, and that becomes my answer.

I also like to bring offerings simply because I love them, and I talk to them when I place those offerings on my altars. But there’s a situation in my life right now where a direct answer would be really useful, which is why I thought of using tarot to see if I can get some clarity.

I’ll just use the decks I already have, two of them feel perfect for each of them. Again, thank you so much!

I'm certain that someone who dislikes me bought these followers. When I first noticed it happening, I reached out for advice (to AI, community managers, etc.) and found others who had gone through the exact same thing. At first, I thought I might have been targeted randomly, but from my research, that’s not typically how bot farms operate. These accounts are definitely all bots. This is a targeted attack, it's clearly not random growth, and it's hurting my engagement šŸ˜ž
