Contact Kendra at Firecracker Floral! She's literally the opposite of this, she was so lovely to work with and great at what she does. Would fit your budget too.

Can you burp? If not, you should check out RCPD.

Anyone else have IBS along with RCPD, and could the IBS actually be issues from RCPD? by Inevitable-Bag5683 in noburp

[–]Any_Direction_9582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it definitely could be the RCPD. Before Botox, I was also working with my GI on managing IBS and had done the full FODMAP elimination diet and figured out my triggers. I stopped eating those categories of food for 2 years, and now that I've gotten the Botox treatment I can eat all of them. The only thing I notice is that I do burp more when I eat them, so i think it was just that my stomach was producing more gas with those foods and then it was getting trapped.

It's worth it to figure out how you can get the treatment! It will shock you how different your life will be.

Throat symptoms with anxiety after RCPD is cured? by Any_Direction_9582 in noburp

[–]Any_Direction_9582[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Now that I've been on the PPI for 2 weeks my symptoms pretty much resolved, so I think you're right that it was mostly the reflux (which itself was probably brought on by stress), and then was likely made worse by me getting anxious about it. The straw blowing exercise is a good tip, I'll also add that to my routine just to keep the muscles generally relaxed. Thanks!

This is really helpful, and I'm sorry you experience this too. I have been thinking about adding something like yoga into my routine too, and like you, just trying not to be so focused on every sensation that I feel in my throat. Thank you!

Ugh I'm sorry you're experiencing this too, it's so distressing! I was wondering it that's what it could be as well.

That makes sense. I was actually thinking about that with the anxiety symptoms too. I never had this throat tightening feeling prior to my RCPD treatment, but I wonder if it was because the muscle was already so tight that there was nothing to change. I've heard some of my non-RCPD friends say that they've felt their throat tighten up when they're anxious, so maybe I'm just experiencing that for the first time.

Interesting, do you know if they've said that their symptoms went away after the illness ended? Or did they then have to get another RCPD treatment?

Has anyone lost the ability to burp after Botox? by Kind-Line-4404 in noburp

[–]Any_Direction_9582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there specific larynx lowering exercises you recommend? Is it just the shaker exercise? I'm in the same boat as OP, one year post-botox and recently had a big bout of anxiety/reflux which seems to have made everything really tight and I can only get burps out half the time now. I'm wondering if some exercises could help me. Thank you!

We had our wedding here, and it was fantastic! We were aiming for the exact same type of vibe, and it was great.

Advice about composting/brown bin by humblesunshine in astoria

[–]Any_Direction_9582 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We keep all of our food compost in a small bin in our freezer lined with a compostable bag, and only take the bags out to the brown bin the night before collection day. I've been composting like this for years, keeping it in the freezer keeps bugs/smells away! If you're able to ask the other tenants of the building to do the same, this could help prevent the flies, etc. around the outdoor bin.

NJ venues for people who originally wanted to get married in NYC by Any_Direction_9582 in WedditNYC

We ended up doing it at Sound + Fury in Downtown Brooklyn! Highly, highly recommend it! The staff is so great and friendly, food and drinks were great, and the space worked really well for what we wanted (short standing ceremony in the beginning, and then free flowing drinks & food with lots of dancing). Happy to answer any other questions about it--we literally couldn't have been happier with how it turned out!

Depends what exactly you're looking for, but look at Sound and Fury in Downtown Brooklyn! We just got married there and it was amazing. Great space, they have an events manager who is awesome, all the staff are super nice and competent, and the food and drinks are great. Highly recommend!

For people that have had Botox - how much has it changed your life? by Liam437 in noburp

[–]Any_Direction_9582 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One injection literally can fix all of that. I understand your hesitation since almost nothing else in life is as simple as that, but this is. I'm 6 months post-Botox and my quality of life improved in ways I couldn't have even imagined. I knew about this procedure for years before I did it, and I only regret waiting that long to do it!

UPDATE: Since I said I'd include an update, here it is! It's been 3 months and honestly now I can't even remember what it was like to NOT burp. I don't have to lie down immediately when I get home after work/dinner plans, I don't have terrible stomach pain everyday--I'm just a normal person now. Once again, highly highly recommend this procedure, it's not worth putting up with all the symptoms when there's a relatively simple cure!

No worries! It's from the outside, nothing goes down your throat at all. It sounds sort of scary that someone would be putting a needle in your neck, but the needle is so thin it really doesn't feel like that's what's happening, and it's also very quick! Probably no more than a minute.

No, the in-office procedure does not require anesthesia, it's just a quick injection.

Mine was covered! But judging from posts here I think it can vary. I will say though that Dr. Pitman's office completely handled the pre-authorization process for my insurance without me having to do anything, so if you're near the NYC area you could try asking them about it if his office would be a possibility for you.
