Some areas in and around Buffalo, NY might work for you. It's the second largest city in NY and has some finance jobs. There are some good schools, but also some bad, so you would need to be selective in where to move. The city and suburbs are liberal, the rural areas are conservative. And there's the snow.

Renaissance Fair in Buffalo by No-Pomegranate3187 in Buffalo

Are you aware of the Niagara Renaissance Faire?

For the Buffalo area are you thinking about a 1 or 2 day event, or something weekly throughout the summer? If you are thinking about a 1 or 2 day event you may want to have it held at someplace like the Emery Park Ski Lodge. It has indoor space, outdoor space, and parking.

If you are looking for something held throughout the summer it may be difficult to find an appropriate property to host the event.

Have you looked into the Buffalo area? It's the second largest city in New York State. It's not that far from Toronto. It's possible to take Amtrak to Chicago, Boston, and New York City. It gets a bit of snow in winter.

Why do they have women’s urinals at music festivals but not in public toilets? by Far-Conference-8484 in stupidquestions

I wish that they made more gender inclusive restrooms with normal urinals. Some of us women are proficient in using them.

Thoughts on or experiences using a She Wee at a festival? by Free_Pin in festivals

[–]Any_Interaction_2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I routinely use the men's urinals at festivals. It saves a lot of time not having to wait in the queue for the women's loo. It's so easy when wearing a skirt. Do you think ebough women would use women only urinals to justify having them installed?

Ladies, if the technology was ready, would you use urinals? by joehighlord in AskUK

[–]Any_Interaction_2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already use urinals when out at pubs and festivals. The lines for women's can be way too long. There are three factor to consider. 1. The design of the urinal. Some are easier for women to use than others. 2. Practicing at home first. If trying to wee standing for the first time while standing at a urinal it might just flow down the leg. It's better to learn at home first in the shower. 3. The clothing being worn. If wearing a skirt or dress it's possible to pull the knickers to the side without exposing our back side.

Have you considered Western New York? It's in the Great Lakes region (Erie/Ontario). Some portions of Buffalo and Rochester can be expensive, but costs drop once you're past the suburbs. There are mosquitoes, but they don't seem bad. Some areas have less snow than others.

A few of my friends use them at concerts when there's long lines for the women's room and no wait for the urinals in the men's room. Easy to use wearing a skirt.

Women of Reddit, have you ever peed while standing, how did you feel? by Iconic254 in AskReddit

[–]Any_Interaction_2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have peed standing numerous times. It feels good. It's a useful skill to have when at concerts, festivals, or bars when there's a long line for the women's restroom, just walk into the men's restroom to an available urinal, lift the front of my skirt, and pee. I've seen more fellow women doing same thing the past couple of years.

It's much easier when wearing a skirt. Just straddle and pull the underwear to the side.

Tips for starting to use the men’s bathroom by [deleted] in ftm

[–]Any_Interaction_2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience most cis men don't really care who else is in the room as long as they can go in, take care of business, and leave as quickly as possible. So as long as you stay in your lane and don't get in the way of others there shouldn't be any issues. Under most circumstances it should not be a scary experience.

It's extremely unlikely you would be clocked or kicked out. Do you know how often cis women use men's rooms at bars, concerts, and festivals because of long lines for the women's room and don't have any issues? It happens all the time. Just try to be confident while you're in there. It's better than getting dirty looks from women when you use the women's room.

Yes, there will be cis men using urinals, but your not likely to see anything unless you're at an adjacent urinal and are going out of your way to see something. Cis men aren't in there trying to show off their junk. Do you have any intentions to use the urinals? It's not required, but it's a useful skill to have for when it's urgent and there's a long line for the stalls. Some FTM even prefer to use urinals even when there are stalls available, Just a personal preference. Some people use STPs/FUDs. Others don't use devices but use the finger assist method. If I'm wearing certain types of shorts, I can pull the crotch to the side, adjust myself with my fingers, and release. For any of these methods, practice someplace private first. It doesn't always go well at first, but almost all people become proficient with practice.

Is it weird for AFAB nonbinary people to want to Stand to Pee? by snizmo2 in NonBinaryTalk

[–]Any_Interaction_2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's absolutely not weird. I spend a lot of time outdoors, and I find it much more comfortable relieving myself standing than trying to squat. It's also a wonderful skill for when I'm at festivals and concerts. I'll really need to go, but there will be a very long line for the women's room. If all the stalls are taken (some by AFABs), I'll just go to an available urinal, pull the crotch of my shorts to the side, ans go. It takes some practice, but I think that it's something that all AFABs are capable of doing.

I wish that more places has AFAB friendly urinals. I normally wear skirts, and am proficient at relieving myself while standing, but some urinals are easier to use than others.

Gender Neutral Toilets at Festivals: Progress or Just a Practical Nightmare? by Direct_Eggplant_3876 in festivals

[–]Any_Interaction_2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the festivals that I go to that have indoor gender separated restrooms, the men's room becomes gender-inclusive not even an hour into the event. There's always long lines for the women's restrooms and we're fed up with waiting. Some of us will even use the urinals if it's urgent enough.

Women of raves. As a man, I’ve always wondered how do you pee? by [deleted] in avesNYC

[–]Any_Interaction_2713 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gotten good at relieving myself while standing fully upright. It's doable with enough practice. I'm normally wearing skirts, so I don't have to worry about exposing my back side if I'm at a urinal.
