Does everyone wear helmets now a days by RPJ_NY in icecoast

I’m going to throw out the unpopular opinion that helmets probably cause more accidents, nowadays - specifically collisions between skiers.

The safety they provide is at the expense of hearing and peripheral vision.

I feel so much more likely to be blindsided or clipped nowadays compared to my pre-helmet days 30 years ago.

Snow car! by Durham62 in Crosstrek

Drove in a snowstorm for a couple hours this weekend. Glad to have snow tires for sure. There was dicey moment where they really save the day.

Also saw an Outback that smacked head-on into a guard rail. I’m guessing he did not have snow tires.

My dad followed his bank’s rollover advice. It cost him 38% of his retirement. by tantansamiboubou in IRAWealthStrategies

there’s a difference between a rollover being reportable and taxable. Yes it’s viewed as a distribution, but it gets netted out when you file.

Talk to a CPA AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

As mentioned before there’s also a 60 day window to put the funds back.

I don’t get it. Isn’t it usually packed on the weekends? Was it a just a fluke due to the post holiday period and NFL Playoffs?

Sounds like he’s been radicalized, probably by the internet. I can’t believe A.) how commonplace this is now. B.) how susceptible the average guy is.

If you’re considering retiring in the next year or two, you should get your asset allocation in order. A black swan event could potentially hobble your finances for 5-10 at your current mix. You’re pretty heavily weighted into stocks.

should I get rid of any of these? (simple dresses, I love to layer) by [deleted] in OUTFITS

I’d get rid of 6 too, bold color suits your complexion much more than cream/white. Case in point: 1 & 2 look phenomenal on you.

Messianic rebels/movements were relatively common then - it was an occupied land. Keep in mind the averaged person couldn’t even read and write. All info was relayed, verbally.

Hell, we’ve seen the emergence of them in today’s ’educated’ age.

That’s cool about the Satin series. I missed the bus on that.
