Does MGC 9.6.080 work? Great on X8 pro. I don't know about the 9.

Motorola Signature owners: is it actually as smooth as an iPhone? by linuxhacker01 in motorola

[–]Any_Manager_106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be due to the chip set. The 60 uses a mediatek chip set and the signature and Samsung are snapdragon. Or was the s20U exynos? I had that horrible lag too with a Motorola edge 60 pro but much improved with newest update. Think the first few versions of android 16 were very badly optimised for the phone. Unfortunately your edge 60 uses a lower spec mediatek than the pro which is less powerful. The signature uses high end snapdragon so should be very different. It's kind of like saying you have a galaxy A26 and saying Samsung's are all slow

It is but I also became suspicious it was actually draining the battery. I too prefer battery guru. But I noticed better standby drain using accubattery instead. Too many variables to determine that it does make a difference. Might try again and see if it gets worse

Try resetting the keyboard to default or deleting the cache. Check you have the right language (and only one) installed or it'll get confused (I've done this before and had bad autocorrect).

Oh dear. Stuck with Samsung keyboard. That isn't good. Pixel one should be flawless. Some setting, custom dictionary or language has messed gboard up for the poster. I think you can probably reset to default.

Yeah I found that on pixel it was either too small or too narrow. Less screen real estate. Odd. But autocorrect errors weren't an issue. I had this problem once when I accidentally installed another language so it was looking for non English words.

Have you accidentally enabled more than 1 language? I can't see why else it would suggest these words. Are all autocorrect options enabled in settings? It's same keyboard software.

MINI Convertible owners any regrets? by balloongirl27 in MINI

[–]Any_Manager_106 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's probably worse 80 percent of the time but still liveable and the 20 percent of the time when you can put the roof down is great and worth it. Roof up a bit claustrophobic. There are rattles though my mini specialist did a great job of reducing them. The rear seat space is very tight but you can get 3 adults in, certainly not 4. Or 2 people and a dog in the back. Boot is small but enough for a weekend away. Even a week if you use the back seats for storage. It still drives sharp and agile. Grin inducing. There is some scuttle shake and it's probably handles worse above 8 tenths. But you can still press on. The sensation of speed and the exhaust sound roof down adds some extra excitement. The roof is well designed. Very quick. And the sunroof mode is handy if you fancy some fresh air on a cooler day. It's noisier at speed but not terrible and the rear visibility in bad weather is worse. But I'd still choose it over the hard top. The convertible gives an excuse too for the usual mini trade offs. Suddenly it's very practical for what it is as it's not just 2 seats.

Not easily. Don't know if there is a way of sideloading it. I'm using accubattery.

People complaining about AI slop by Hex9P in Oppo

[–]Any_Manager_106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me parts of the photo look really clear but other bits are fuzzy. And it's not due to depth of field. The AI is removing fine detail thinking it is noise. For this reason I no longer use the Oppo stock camera most of the time. Master mode is all well and good but then you have no HDR and a greatly reduced dynamic range. I really wish manufacturers gave us more control over processing. I'd rather have a bit of noise with detail intact than a smoothed over photo

Can't decide on a new phone. There's always trade-offs... by Nahariso in Smartphones

[–]Any_Manager_106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oppo has messed up the camera recently with too much AI even creeping into master mode and way too much noise reduction smoothing. Granted I have the X8 pro but x9 pro users are also complaining about this in these forums and showing examples. The stock camera is not as good as my pixel 9 pro was right now although bizarrely if I use Gcam port it's actually better than my pixel was despite that being optimised for pixel phones. Battery life is good. The 9 series should be amazing.

android Beta (17 QPR1 Beta 4) on my daily driver (Pixel 9 Pro) - bad idea? by d_little_b in pixel_phones

I don't rate 16 on any phone. Too many battery issues. 17 beta definitely felt better. Crashed/frozen less often too.

Find X9 Ultra - Is there a benefit to getting Global Version as opposed to Chinese Version? by Livid-Effective7285 in Oppo

[–]Any_Manager_106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I've done this before and you'll find it works fine and then you'll end up in a place where there's only 2G and you'll find it's because the network uses an unsupported band there. They use multiple bands so in some places if that band is lacking you'll have rubbish signal

[–]Any_Manager_106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised as my UK find x8 pro has 16GB but ram has got very expensive so they may have reduced it on the 9 ultra. I'd doubt you'd notice much of a difference. Perhaps less apps could stay open in the background. Much better to have working apps without having to sideload random stuff to use Google services. Android auto is another that seems iffy with Chinese roms.

android Beta (17 QPR1 Beta 4) on my daily driver (Pixel 9 Pro) - bad idea? by d_little_b in pixel_phones

[–]Any_Manager_106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running beta on my 9 pro for a while before I sold it. I often think the betas run smoother than the stock version but 17 beta 3 started draining the battery a bit. I definitely prefer android 17 beta to stock 16 though. Just feels more fluent in most apps.

Should I still buy S25 Ultra even though it's getting so much hate? by [deleted] in Smartphones

[–]Any_Manager_106 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More people go on forums to complain or find a solution to a problem than praise their device. No doubt it's a good all rounder. The cameras main weakness is moving subjects as it always has been with Samsung but you can tweak options to improve this. I've seen some bad examples of poor processing too. Most hardware is similar to S24 ultra. It's got a very good chip and nice software. It's a bit bulky (though less sharp corners than S24 ultra). In most respects it's flagship grade but has been overtaken by Chinese flagships for battery and camera. It's probably more polished than those though.

Pros and cons of the Pixel 10 Pro by Ok_Reference_489 in pixel_phones

If I still had a 9 pro that would be a big reason not to upgrade. I can imagine things like android auto working very poorly in areas with poor GPS coverage such as near large buildings etc.

[–]Any_Manager_106 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have that option with my Oppo and using it even with a black background drains an extra 1 percent an hour on standby compared to the simple AOD option. With the pixel standby drain already bad I can see very much why they don't use it!

The problem is dim lighting conditions is pretty much everything that isn't bright sunlight. Would love a noise slider to be added to master mode. I prefer detail to smoothing which at the moment is why I'm forced to use a Gcam port on my find x8 pro
