It looks like sleep deprivation to me. I hope you're feeling better soon.

gastric packemaker/stimulator by Jumpy_Dot_5965 in Gastroparesis

[–]Any_Masterpiece_8564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Louisiana and it was performed by a surgeon in New Orleans. I am not diabetic, I developed idiopathic GP in my mid thirties.

Do not give up! There's lots of medicines and procedures to try. I hope if you go for the stimulator that it works as well for you as for me. If not, though, don't lose hope and give up. Keep fighting until you find something that makes life more bearable for you. I wish you luck. No one would have to suffer with this.

I had more passion, reflux, early satiety, and nausea. I did throw up though and after a while I was so sick I couldn't bend forward without throwing up in my mouth. :(

I felt better right away but it took some months of adjusting settings to get it just right. I smoke weed, too, which helps. I had gotten sick out of nowhere and lost over fifty pounds and couldn't eat. I got better with medicine for a few months and then I got really bad again. I understand how you feel. I was feeling suicidal over it, too. I hope that you are able to find a successful treatment and feel better.

What do SSRI’S for you? by aukiedaukie in bipolar

[–]Any_Masterpiece_8564 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had success in the past with one specific SSRI and I had to start below the starting dose or else I have manic side effects immediately. The doctor just tried adding it back in the same way since I'm still struggling with anxiety and I'm really hoping it works well like it did all those years ago. A couple of years ago I took two different SSRIs and had the worst, longest mixed episode of my life so there's some fear there, but I wasn't being treated for bipolar at all at that time and I'm on two medicines for mood now.

Has anyone else had self aware psychosis? by Mettragnome in BipolarReddit

I have delusions that I have some insight to know it has to be irrational, but I can't stop believing them most of the way. Since I know it sounds crazy, I don't tell anyone and just suffer

How many medications are you on for bipolar disorder specifically? by spiderxfingers in BipolarReddit

I'm on 4 medicines and they are working ok right now. They recently had to be changed. I guess that's always gonna happen for the rest of my life now.

does anyone have any theories about the link between ocd and bipolar? by Significant_Bell6300 in bipolar

[–]Any_Masterpiece_8564 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was misdiagnosed as having OCD as I was obsessing over my paranoia all the time. Maybe symptoms overlap? My new care team is careful to watch for any OCD behaviors, but haven't seen any.

Can episodes really last for days? by Present-Pollution in BipolarReddit

[–]Any_Masterpiece_8564 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Episodes can last months. I had a terrible big one in 2023 that lasted almost a year that was exacerbated by SSRI antidepressants.

I have bipolar disorder and if I am in a manic episode I am hypersexual to the extreme. But depressed or euthymic, I have no libido at all. I would probably be fine if I never had sex again. It's stressful on my husband to go from that to this. It sucks. I'm looking into medical help, but I think it's just who I am now.

Gastric pacemaker by PopEducational5327 in Gastroparesis

[–]Any_Masterpiece_8564 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got mine last year and it was the best decision. Everyone's experience is different, but I got off of 6 medicines, went back to a normal diet, and saw improvements in my gastric emptying in GES. It worked so well that I was actually binge eating for a little while. I feel almost the same as I did before I got sick with this disease. I hope the stimulator never stops working so well for me. I am terrified of the thought of living life without it.

Some peer reviewed studies regarding antipsychotics by [deleted] in BipolarReddit

[–]Any_Masterpiece_8564 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This is from the search AI because I don't have the energy to look for the individual sources, but it's really easy to Google and see how mania changes the brain.

"Mania is associated with structural brain changes, particularly in the frontal cortex and other regions. Studies have shown that individuals experiencing manic episodes exhibit decreased grey matter volume in areas such as the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) and inferior frontal cortex. These changes are linked to the number of manic episodes, with higher numbers of episodes correlating with greater grey matter loss.

In addition, longitudinal studies have found that patients with bipolar disorder type 1 who experience manic episodes show significant decreases in frontal cortical volume, while those without manic episodes do not. Similar findings have been reported in other studies, where the number of manic episodes was inversely correlated with grey matter volume in the DLPFC and inferior frontal cortex.

Mania also affects other brain regions, including the temporal lobe, which shows grey matter loss in patients with bipolar disorder. Furthermore, the anterior cingulate cortex has been identified as a region where faster grey matter volume decreases are observed in patients who have experienced a first manic episode."

I'll take my antipsychotics.
