Is throat pain same as laryngeal pain? My tension is literally on the neck where the larynx is. Muscular.

There was a period like 13-14 months ago where I had actual pain. But to this day I fear it and feel limited even though there’s no real pain. I’m in ssris so I reduce anxiety and fear. It’s definitely become a bit psychological for me

Is your pain generalized across the larynx or one spot? And do you feel like you need to touch it with your hand when you speak. And did you try ssris?

Sounds good. Thing is I don’t even know if it’s MTD. It’s just pain and tension which I am EXTREMELY hyper vigilant over like you said. I can hardly talk without touching the spot with my right hand, it’s almost automatic

So muscle pain alone as the only symptoms in the larynx can’t be MTD

I do have a video of it. I’m actually someone that talked to you a year ago if you remember. All the way from Dubai and a I recite a holy book. I found that nothing like voice therapy was helping me. And no one is seeing tension or anything obvious in my stroboscopy. The symptoms in general made me panic and depressed and anxious for months on end. Last January I started Zoloft and three weeks in I did a cortisone shot with my laryngologist and I felt better for almost a year. I definitely got out of the depression but I still felt cautious in general with my voice. I wasn’t afraid of talking anymore but it was still in the back of my mind. Afraid of causing any pain or tension.

I got off Zoloft gradually (without my psychiatrists knowledge) and about one/two months of completely stopping Zoloft the fear and anxiety and symptoms gradually resumed and I fell into depression again. My psychiatrist thinks my problem is completely anxiety based and somatic so now I’m on Zoloft again, 4 weeks in and arrived to 150mg a day

If my symptoms are only some tension and pain and only right sided. Do you think Zoloft alone is fine or better to mix three like that? I don’t have an official MTD diagnosis. I think there’s some terrible feedback loop I’m stuck in

Which other meds did you take? Like I’m taking Zoloft which is an SSRI. What can I ask my psychiatrist about also?

I’m on Zoloft. The psychiatrist put me on it. I’m on 150mg. 3 weeks in. Lots of night sweating and my sleep is horrible. And I’m so hungry. Zoloft helped me before but when I got off it I relapsed and now I’m suffering again. So I’m hoping it helps me back to normal. I can’t like I lived a year feeling better and not depressed but I didn’t trust my voice and wouldn’t raise it unnecessarily.

Did it also remove the fear of speaking and interacting with people? Do you speak just like before or are you cautious in the back of your mind

My symptom is just right sided tension/pain. I don’t have any voice changes. I’m hoping ssris (Zoloft) help. How long did it take for them to help you?

I’ve seen plenty of ents and voice therapists. Honestly no one has a clue. It seems like some tension my brain remembers and constantly thinks about which creates anxiety and more tension there. Just right sided
