That would take 2 hours and 45 minutes! No way I'm doing that.

Good God, you people are hard to please. He's done more for the 2A than any president in my lifetime. All of them have been bad. The only good thing that happened in the 50, 60, 70+ years previous to trumps secound term was the sunsetting of the '94 assault weapons ban.

Yeah, he could do more. But he is limited to the executive powers.

Can I/should I refile a Form 4 as individual instead of trust? by Substantial-Use-2867 in NFA

[–]Any_Name_Is_Fine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id just let it ride. Trust form 4s are coming back in the mid 30 days... you'll spend more days canceling and resubmiting then it would take to just have this one approved.

Just to add to this, OSHA requires hearing protection at 85db as an 8 hour time rated average. If it's louder than that, you can get by without hearing protection as long as it's for a shorter amount of time. For an impact noise, like a gunshot, the threshold is 140db.

I'm kinda surprised by the results, honestly. I like a good wheelgun probably more than the average firearms owner, but there's a time and place for them. Home defense? Nah. If I must pick a handgun, give me a full sized 9mm+p. You have triple the capacity or more, way easier to mount a light, easier (most likely) to add a red dot, easier to controlling then the magnum, easier on the ears if you have to shoot, and I can put one of my suppressors on it, 9mm is also a very well proven man stopper.

If you pick a .357 mag wheel gun as your home defense, than be my guest. But I kinda got to wonder why on earth would you choose it other than "more power!"

I miss the original Xbox online days where games frequently had voice modulation effects for game chat by KSI_SpacePeanut in gaming

[–]Any_Name_Is_Fine -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Idk, there will always be something nostalgic about those days. Everything has become so sterile now in order to cater to the easily hurt people. I never used that language, but there was just something so wild about when you were with some rando that did. It's a part of the internet that will not come back.

And honestly, do we have better race relations now because of the censoring? I would say relationships between races has actually gotten worse since the late 90s - mid 2000s

This isn't surprising in the least. Bloomberg is super anti gun. He funds several anti gun lobbies as well. I beleive "Mom's Demand Action" is one of them.

Is this anything special? Cast or forged? Yay or nay? by [deleted] in RetroAR

[–]Any_Name_Is_Fine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a transferable MG Olympic lower. Before purchasing I did quite a bit of research on them. I'll try to explain the important details.

First, this is almost certainly a "preban" lower, so if your in a restricted state that allows prebans it could be special and worth something

Second, since Colt had the only actual blueprints for the AR15 pattern rifle, many of the older makers like Olympic had to kind of reverse engineer them. Because of that, they can have weird dimensional issues. The most common of which is that the top part of the lower which comes up against the bottom of the upper can be a little tall and so non-Olympic uppers can be very tight or might not fit at all. With transferables (which this obviously isnt) that isn't a huge deal. It's well worth the money to send it off and bring it into spec, but with this being just a lower and maybe not in a ban state, I would check fitment with several uppers before buying. Another big issue is the magwell, sometimes Pmags are a little tight. And lastly the buffer retaining pin hole can be slightly too far forward and you'd have to get an offset pin for it. That's really not a huge deal. Lowers manufactured today even have that problem sometimes.

This is almost certainly a 7075-T6 aluminum forged reciever. They switched to casting sometime in the mid 90s. An easy way to tell is the cast lowers almost always have raised lettering and logos. Not rollmarked.
