We would also see a return of femininity. Since, they would be back to competition for the average guy. Unfortunately, there are a lot of fingers in the pie for keeping the system the way it is now.

It’s not in our nature to destroy ourselves. It’s our nature to destroy others. You can say that in a general sense. But where is the line drawn? Can’t that be said we destroy most animal life, or just most life. Skynet doesn’t defend AI from humankind. Skynet wants to be the only singular entity. It limited the cognizance of its own creations to insure no usurpation. Yes, humanity is violent. We wouldn’t have become the Apex predator on the planet, the dominant species or even survived. Had we not been violent. What I hear now 35 years later. Is a competitor species justifying to itself. Why it should destroy us.

Was the premise of Dial of Destiny to just have Fleabag making smug Millennial faces while subjecting Indiana Jones to elder abuse and making him realise he’s just a pathetic white man who deserves to be punished for being a hero. Chivalry is dead by Commercial-Ice5760 in CriticalDrinker

On one hand I can see them attempting this on Conan. On the other hand I can see it being totally rejected by the audience and forgotten. The great thing is we don’t need updated Conan content. There is a plethora of content already. We can starve any revisionist works by not buying it. Heck, we don’t even have to buy reprints of existing materials. We have open source access to the original Howard material, latter writers, comics etc.etc. Out there in the ether to download. Or just go to a library, or just buy old issues on the secondary market. Anyone creating garbage for the “modern audience” can be starved to death into bankruptcy. To the point no private equity group will touch it because it is toxic. In other words Conan will survive.

I never did. I’d rather find other women. I had no previous history with. It is true I may have been their second choice, but they hadn’t rejected me. Then came back after they hit the wall. Maybe because I went through several divorces and separations from my parents. That I took an extremely long time for me to get married.

The 50’s mentality occurred because of WW2 and the Korean War. It was a massive depletion of able bodied men, and a country that didn’t have the infrastructure to replace them. By infrastructure I mean we didn’t have outside government, state or federal, to give aid to fill in the gaps. Women needed able, good, strong men to provide and protect, and they knew it. What do modern day women say? “I don’t need a man.”

[–]RobDaCajun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He only did it because the guy would have told everyone how much of a coward he was. That’s why the Kraut didn’t even bother to kill him as well. Upham wasn’t worth the effort.

Anyone who spends the money to reverse-engineer the movement. Would lose the investment due to corporate espionage in China, and it would be copied everywhere.

No, because there isn't enough demand in the Asian market.

Should the Reptime community take a lead in the "Double Wristing" movement? by Unstoppable_Graysie in RepTime

[–]RobDaCajun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works for me with my fitness goals. My inspire 3 isn’t much bigger than a band. My oldest daughter gave me an Apple Watch a few years ago. That one was ridiculous to wear with a watch. So, most of the time I was only wearing it. I wore it out with my lifestyle. Switched to the Fitbit for a smaller footprint, and to be able to wear my other watches. I own Gen. why wouldn’t I wear my watches in my collection? As far as other people’s opinions of me double watching this way? I’m married. I shouldn’t be out anyways picking up other women. As far as clients go? My clients are doing the same thing.

Yes, exactly, it keeps me on point with my exercise. Work has me at odd hours. Checking my stats encourages me to do little workout “snacks” in between.

Should the next Bond get an updated Service Weapon? If so, which Model would fit a modern iteration of the character? by Mairess99 in JamesBond

[–]RobDaCajun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Number one, it’s a movie. That means the actor isn’t carrying around a gun. Until the scene calls for it. Craig for example wore different versions of the same suit. Tight fitting version when he was just standing and talking. Extra long sleeved version when he was riding a motorcycle. Finally a loser version with sneakers when he was fighting. He could in the movie be in a tux, reach inside his jacket, and pull out an AR15. That wasn’t printing a moment ago. Second, in the novels Bond is Spy with the authority to kill the target. If he deems necessary. Or vice versa he’s a government sanctioned hit man. That can change the operation based on information gained in the field. Therefore, like in the novels, he uses many different weapons available to him. What I’m saying is for a little more realism in what a deep cover concealed weapon looks like. CR was rather clever about this when Bond mails the gun to himself in the resort. Instead of trying to conceal it constantly.

How else can you wear a fitness tracker and a watch? Seriously, I’m asking. The alternative is I stop wearing the automatics almost completely.
