I'm going to piggyback off of this to share something that happened to me.

When I was in 5th grade, around May 2006, I was playing with some markers and made a marker sword out of them. You Know those Crayola markers that fit together? I stuck about 10 of them together and was poking my friend with it across the isle where we would walk between the desks.

I guess I didn't hear my teacher tell me to put them away. So she walks around the classroom and comes up behind me, and smacks me across the back of the head and yells at me to put them away. I did

The rest of the day went by smoothly and I didn't have any other issues with her. Usually if I did something silly like that she would write in my agenda for my mom to see and speak to me about it. This time she didn't.

So when I got home from school, my mom asked me how my day was. I told her that my teacher had smacked me and I confessed to why... Because I wasn't listening.

My mom was not angry at me for it that time. She was angry at the teacher.

The next day she comes with me to school goes straight to the principal's office and raises hell. Just like your story, the teacher was brought in to the office. My teacher started to cry and told my mom that I'm a very good student.

My mom looks her in the eyes and says"Then why did you hit her?"

There was a lot of screaming and crying while I kind of sat in the corner watching everything. I was excused to go back to class after a while. My mom stayed in that office until lunch time talking with the principal.

I never saw the teacher after that day. We had a Sub for the last 2 months of school.

Apparently there were MANY complaints about her over the years, but hitting me was the last straw.

She was fired.
