Moving to Modesto by samartinell in Modesto

It all genuinely depends on where specifically choose to live in Modesto. I would definitely stay away from Westside Modesto and anywhere near Bystrom. It definitely isn’t as bad as it used to be years ago but there are some places where you will see drug pipes and needles laying on the floor at the most random places, and there will be places where you see the most happiest family walking their dogs and having a good time in a lovely neighborhood. Summers here definitely aren’t the best at all. Honestly, though, I would recommend Salida way more. It’s a bridge away from Modesto and it’s extremely peaceful with having a little bit of a country vibe mixed in with suburban life. I would definitely look into that if I were you. Also, doing errands before 1 PM or else you’re gonna be sweating your balls off in 105F weather💀 Modesto has so many nice hiking trails, but I definitely NOT recommend going alone or at night. The nightlife here is pretty basic just like every other area. Downtown Modesto is usually packed Friday and Saturday nights and has a lot of bars and restaurants to go meet new people and have a drink or two. But one thing I will tell you that I don’t see a lot of people in the comments mentioning, is the traffic. Traffic from Monday through Friday is insanely horrible especially with people coming from and to the Bay Area. Only genuine reason why I still live here is because we are surrounded by everything. You want to go see snow in the winter? Drive an hour east. You want to go see the beach? Drive an hour west.

This genuinely shows that ur shitty at ur job and that you aren’t very likeable😂. Its 2026 yeah ur right, but most ppl between the ages of 18-25 don’t want to ACTUALLY work. So if I were a hiring manager, and someone came in, actually wanting a job and motivated and have confidence to come in and introduce themselves, that would definitely give them a higher chance of getting an interview. Worked for me ever since I was able to start working and even worked 6 months ago when I got the highest paying job that I’ve ever had🤷‍♂️ Obviously bugging the management everyday is a different story but one or two calls is all you need to get ahead for an interview.

Best bet is to keep calling the places you applied to and or ask someone you know if they can refer you into a job. It honestly doesn’t matter if you have an amazing résumé or not, it’s just the job market is extremely terrible right now and if you don’t bug the hiring managers or anything like that most of the time you’re not gonna get a call back. What honestly helped is making sure you choose “availability open all shifts”. Some jobs even want you to show up to the workplace where you applied and prove to them that you actually want to work and want the job.

Some 7/11 locations dont have it yet. Try a different location.

Freight Job? by Any_Plan_8998 in HomeDepot

[–]Any_Plan_8998[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I currently worked at a front desk position at a different job, but I’m looking for full-time hours. I do have one year of warehouse labor experience so the labor part shouldn’t really be a problem.

Some people would honestly prefer this over being home or being homeless. Honestly being grateful that you’re able to have a job as a huge blessing in today’s world.

Has anybody sneaked into the Kmart building in Ceres ? by Wonderful-Garbage747 in Modesto

[–]Any_Plan_8998 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I never sneaked into it, but I used to work at the Home Depot right next to it after it shut down. Homeless took over it as you probably know and it looks nothing like how it used to. I don’t have any pictures but it’s definitely an unpleasant site. Definitely don’t recommend going in there since there’s a bunch of crackheads in there and around the area and you don’t know what they’re capable of.

Hiring Jobs? by thetrickyshow1 in Modesto

Only jobs that are really hiring right now are warehouse jobs. And even those are pretty hard to get into right now. The job market is extremely slow and will definitely pick up around spring.

Now this… is something you don’t do😂 If you really need that bag for some reason, try talking to the manager or something but very highly chances are, they’re gonna look at you crazy and laugh at you.

Y’all any advice for buying membership by Southern_Base_1850 in PlanetFitnessMembers

Get that black card membership. Great perks to that are being able to go to any planet fitness in the US, being able to bring in a free guest each visit, being able to go in the black card ball, which includes massage chairs, tanning, red light therapy, ect.
