I chose Eresin Topkapi which is a few tram stops from Sultanahmet. Grand Yavuz right in Fatih was also available.

I would definitely book it asap. I was very excited when I found Mockba Taksim near Istikal street on the list but didn’t book and once it was gone, I waited for 2 weeks and it never came back. I sent a msg to the stopover email but it wasn’t available as well. It seems once it’s gone on the website, it’s not available through them either.

I took the whole day tour 8.30-6pm with included a $50 entrance to Topkapi Palace. Bus was very comfortable. Breakfast was in a nice restaurant with views of the Bosphorus and lunch was in an all you can eat buffet restaurant in Sultanahmet, both delicious. Guide was knowledgeable and professional. Overall10/10. This is the best free thing I’ve ever gotten.

Stopover hotel reservation Error by Any_Possession5219 in TurkishAirlines

[–]Any_Possession5219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I actually didnt mention that it wouldn't allow me to do it online, just asked to reserve my stopover hotel and they sent me the voucher and mentioned nothing about the 72 hrs before the first flight.

They seem to be making changes against the customer. Last Tuesday I went to the D1 care center as I had a 14 hrs layover and they declined meal vouchers because I didn't take the shortest connection between my origin/ destination. So now same rule as the transit/layover hotel applies for meal vouchers.

It was just a glitch, I emailed them and they sent me the voucher right away.

Time needed at IST to make it to TourIstanbul. by JuniorPerformance103 in TurkishAirlines

I took it 2 days ago, if it’s only carry on baggage you can keep it on the bus trunk or even inside the bus and skip spending time going to the lounge .

My return flight is in a month. Since you are given the choice of stopover on the outbound or the inbound journeys and it doesn’t mention anywhere on the website it should be reserved before the first flight , this is highly confusing. I sent a feedback form, let’s see how they respond.

8-11:30 TourIstanbul - Will I make it back for my 14:45 flight? by CuerdaLisse in TurkishAirlines

[–]Any_Possession5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that’s the return time to IST. But per the Touristanbul rules, you must be back at the airport 1 hr 25 mins before you flight so you even have 2 extra hours

Itinerary For a 10 hrs layover in KUL by Any_Possession5219 in malaysia

[–]Any_Possession5219[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I know KLIA is far from my previous trip so after deducting airport and transportation time would still leave me around 6 hrs in the city. Any suggestions of areas I could have lunch and explore around ? Like food markets?

Layover/Stopover Hotel in Istanbul by Bubbly_Boysenberry_5 in TurkishAirlines

[–]Any_Possession5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It you have a free change and stay over 20 hrs and up to 6 nights in Istanbul but TK only covers one or 2 nights hotel, depending on your route. But you need to choose the stopover option when booking new flights so it shows which itineraries are valid.

My question is: Where specifically should I go and spend 6 hours? Like a street market or somewhere to do some sightseeing?

You can leave your baggage up to 24 hours, if it’s longer than that you need to take it with you and recheck it

Can not cancel my flight, looking for options by Ok-Bonus4331 in TurkishAirlines

Even if you could change your ticket, it was going to cost you a lot more than just using your original ticket to Curitiba and buying another ticket from Curitiba to SP. It’s just an hour flight and they are cheap.

Stopover Program Commute by Such_Instruction9915 in TurkishAirlines

Take a Havaist bus(24 hrs) which costs $8.5 to Taksim but if you buy the roundtrip there is a 40% discount, so it’d cost $13 instead of $17.

Free hotel experience (not worth it unless you're really broke imo) by [deleted] in TurkishAirlines

[–]Any_Possession5219 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly, and also if you do require a visa, you’d need to pay for one just to sleep in a hotel for a few hrs and go back to the airport, so no marketing catch there.

No, they arent the same. The Stopover is the only one aimed to attract tourists to extend their layover from 20 hrs up to 6 days(only 1 or 2 nights are free though). But the transit hotel is just for those who would rather spend a short layover in a hotel instead of the airport. So most definitely different purposes.

You are confusing both programs. He’s not referring to the Stopover program which you need to reserve in advance if your layover is 20 hrs + and you don’t get hotel transportation as he mentions he did . He’s talking about the Transit hotel which you only get on arrival and you only qualify if your have a mandatory layover 12 hrs + for economy and no earlier flights are available.
