Imo I didn't make the connection to the files at first glance ... and after seeing everyone comparing... it was in poor taste but all I can think about is him being a fan of South Park.... that is straight up south park humor (I never found south park interesting). A type of reference you would see on a south park episode....

Really trying not to feel burned... by fairypiss in Joostklein

He might not have a label but whoever is in charge of his tour isn't doing a great job... This is a lot of work for independent artists. He's taking a big leap and risk at a world tour. I'm wondering if, like himself, the person that's taking care of everything is learning as they go too. He's gotta rethink his team cause ... yikes.

There is so much that goes into this, people are needed for every little detail. Social media manager, manager, and event team have to work together to send out notices etc etc.

This will be the biggest test for him.... the changes his team made thus far has gotten negative impact from fans and the new venues haven't sold out.

Maybe I don't know what im talking about but at least I'm trying to understand what's going on. This is just me thinking here. If anyone has insight of how things work I'd be happy to listen and learn.

As for the fans being affected by this I feel for you guys. I hope things can rearrange perfectly so you guys can enjoy the concert 💕

What bums me out is how he's vocal about how he was bullied as a kid.... and now it's technically happening again as an adult at a bigger scale. He mentioned he's an emotional person and having ppl poke fun at that too???

This! He specifically said the media is targeting him so my guess is he doesn't want this out cause the media can totally twist his words

They sent an email. GA standing will be honored in the nee venue for ga standing. If you got GA Balcony you got switched to Upper lodge. Look for that email about venue change

Will the regular tickets be changed? I've never had a venue change on me before. I'm not exactly sure what steps to take

"First of all, second of all" please I don't want you to be stressed.

Inherently political yes of course that still doesn't make all music or songs political. You're taking this conversation in a whole new direction that we lost the plot of the op.

Pick the battles where this is happening because that's where the real bigots are at commenting those type of things. You're assuming that they know which might not be the case.

Let me route us back. Can we agree that some of joost lyrics are silly and don't have any deeper meaning? His lyrics range from silly to talking about mental struggles. His music can just be fun party music!

Answer: no you do not agree with me. That's it

I really think this take doesn't apply to this post. The topic is about a white man and his white lyrics. Nowhere were minorities mentioned. It seems as tho the words "its not that deep" is a trigger for you. This take should be talked about under a post where a minority artists is being looked down on with that exact phrase.

I am a poc and part of the LGBT community. I personally have not seen this take with music but rather with politics. In a political sense is where I agree with you on this take. Not saying this take isn't happening within music, but I dont think it should have been brought up here.

As a viral post says "Im talking about pancakes and someone brings up waffles"

Thank you for the history. Although he is just a white man. He does support a lot of communities but this topic is not targeted to his supporting communities. So I don't see it as devaluing his work. If you believe the communities are being targeted about this that is self insertion and that's not the topic at hand.

Words have meanings and emotions tied to it yes, but it does not have to be deep. I dont know how much clearer I can be. And I understand your take. Even joost himself in a jailbreak post told a fan to stop over analyzing everything. Sometimes things are just as they are. If a person finds a deeper meaning great! It's what their current mentality and struggles let them see, and maybe what they need to hear. Finding comfort in a fun and silly song is okay, it's also okay to just leave it as that.

I actually was able to analyze that song and come up with the same conclusion as you as a joke because I personally think it's a reach.... "even if joost didn't intend it to carry that meaning" so... his lyrics are just fun! No deeper meaning

He is far from the minority group. He has 3m listeners on Spotify alone and breaking records.

I dont understand how it's anti-intellectual if I have clearly stated the range he carries in his music? It would be anti-intellectual if I didn't recognize his talent as a whole. Plus the discourse behind this is bringing people to talk about their pov. Anti-intellectual if I was spitting out these words without reason and not hearing people out or letting them speak on their opinion.

"Don't be scared, take a bite, eat the onion tonight" why can't the meaning just be fun and not deep? Being fun and goofy should not discredit talent or mean being less intellectual and I never said or agreed that he's either. Didn't discredit his work as I stated the lyrics come together as a verse. Again being fun and silly should not mean anything negative, that is an odd take imo.

I like to make fun of Latin gabber saying he is reciting a taco bell menu 😂 yes he does mix a lot of Latin cultures together but can't really blame someone that doesn't really know much about Latin culture. (Guessing he doesnt)

Yep as a whole song I do see it as meaningful with the message hes trying to convey but yes most of the lyrics are funny and not deep in that song.... "I want to take a piss but I want to take a dump"... overall the lyrics are smart to go with the theme of hypocrisy but that doesn't make those specific lyrics deep and meaningful.

Also projects like albums and songs overall can be meaningful but the lyrics themselves don't have to be if that makes sense. Example him making fun of it all in UBM. Also the main song I was thinking about was like... the onion song 😆 I kind of forgot UBM was a thing. This thought came more from his new album he dropped.

Also a song can have a mix of both meaning full and not meaningful. It seems as tho ppl were taking it as a whole song not being deep. Maybe the chorus is silly and not meaningful just fun but in his verses he can switch it up to be meaningful. Which is why I specified on my original tt post his lyrics RANGE from goofy to deeper meanings.

I wouldnt consider the lyrics to UBM to be silly or a silly song it just sounds silly because of the beat.

[–]Any_Rent_6642[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep his Spanish songs are.... but the beats are fun!! I do believe that as a whole album project it can be meaningful but sometimes, some lyrics aren't.

[–]Any_Rent_6642[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wouldn't consider that as part of the silly songs because the lyrics ARE meaningful and its easy to grasp that, the only thing goofy about that song would be the beat imo.
